I have to literally bite my tongue just to keep from saying what I would normally say, had I not been at work! I'm a very honest person, but some guests just WANT to pick a fight. :x

On the subs, you could have a lot of gassy foods, then fart on the guests. Hey it's your farts, so you won't be disgusted by the smell.

I shall endeavor NOT to get under anyone's skin next week when visiting Disneyland. I will also be sure the teens and hubby are on the SAME program.

Just please SPARE US the sub fart tactic. Thats just wrong. ewww

Unrelated... what are pommes frittes?(sp?) Sounds like a french fry, but am not sure.

They arefrench fries with parmesan cheese and herbs with something on the side I think.

We also tried the Pommes Frites - "Traditional French-fried potatoes tossed with Parmesan cheese, garlic and parsley, served with a Cajun spice remoulade." These were REALLY good - evilly good. Nicely crisp but not greasy, with just the right amount of seasonings. Lee didn't care for the remoulade sauce served with them, but I liked it.

The are sort of a fore runner of a french fry, but with more spices, I think some posters may have posted that. I like a lot of garlic on mine!!!!

The ones we had were cut much thicker than American frys, but were the same thing. DW likes hers with vinager like the British.

I still shake my head when thinking of when Knott's started called their French fries American fries. If you want to name something after the country it actually came from, they would correctly be called BELGIAN fries; I checked, and sliced fried potatoes were being sold on the streets of Belgium in the 1850s. The only reason they're called French is the way they are cut--but that didn't keep the French from trying to claim them as their own. Kind of like the way people thought Hercule Poirot was French in the Agatha Christie movies, and he would correct them saying he was, in fact, Belgian.


Now, if you REALLY want to have some fun while globetrotting, ask for Russian dressing in Moscow--Chinese fortune cookies in Beijing-- or anything else in the country of its supposed origin. Amazing how many originated here in the U.S.A.

That's probably my favorite quote from that whole series: some fop calls Poirot a "Faggoty Frenchman" and he replies, most belligerantly:

"I am not a Faggoty Frenchman! I am a Faggoty Belgian!!!"

Hercule knew which was the real insult in that phrase.
