I've been using Flickr for three years. It works very well. Get the uploader tool to do batch jobs.

Picasa has a hard limit of 2 gigs I think. Flickr measures their limit in uploads per month. Also, Flickr Pro is $25 a year for unlimited, while Picasa upgraded is based on storage.

Flickr also bills for two years at $47.99. Flickr Pro has unlimited uploads and storage.

This is probably going to come back and bite them in the ass. I remember when Geocities/Yahoo (I think it was after the merger) did the same thing. Needless to say, it lost them a hell of a lot of users, myself included.

It was actually mentioned on local newsthis morning. I'm hoping the uproar continues and causes some changes.

Facebook its taking too mich liberty with our content. :mad:

I've since pulled down my videos & most pictures.

Has anybody combed through the TOS for Flickr? It seems alright for now unless I find something later:

Another article. This one actually makes sense, and looks to be more than just an inflamation of an already touchy subject.

In a way, I understand the uproar; I certainly don't intend to give them unlimited use of anything I post. However, if I'm sharing those pictures, etc, with friends on there, and those friends keep copies of them, I should be aware that they may be distributed without my permission.

It's something people should be aware of, either way.
