I still say that there are worse places in the world that people swim in.
Aint worried about boats as much as human waste and burning rivers filled with toxic waste.

Yes!!! I knew I wasn't imagining things when I thought there was three water parks. I kept insisting there were three but my friends would always argue the fact with me. These are also friends who insist that we went to Hollywood studios and went on Twister.

As far as lakes, rivers and ponds to swim in, come visit me in MN, Land of 10,000 lakes. I can go 5 min each direction and run into a lake or a river. I had a river in my back yard from 5th-12th grade! As long as you pay attention to the area and you know what is surrounding the lake there usually any issues for swimming. You just can't swim on the really hot days in August, or the Dog Days of summer because the bacteria grows too much and you can get swimmers itch. But around here it's kinda a common fact. One of the most popular lakes in the area for people to be in has a water treatment center right on it. It doesn't smell that great during the summer, but people still swim just down the shore from it. Who knows...

The Rivers of America at Disneyland is this ugly green color. The Columbia and Mark Twain use the same tracks. Near Splash Mountain, at the Hungry Bear Resturant, the SG toss food over the deck area and feed the ducks. All those birds can cause someone not to swim in that water.

How come all that crappy looking water doesn't bother the ducks? Or were they once chickens? Or maybe frogs! Mutanted wildlife fills WDW's waterways.

It's from eating all the churros. You get enough of that stuff in your system and it'll kill anything.

Actually, the Rivers are filled from a pipe with recycled water. It then overflows the locks underneath the bridge at Park 3, down Fowler's Canal and into the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Check the water level on both sides of the lock to confirm water flow direction. The fill pipe is visible from the WDW Railroad next to the raft dock.
