They have photos of Monorail Cat on http://www.icanhascheezburger.com . Gotta do a search for them, though.

I want to be there... to see your reaction.ktulu wrote:I am thinking of putting the same horn on the monorails onto my Jeep, got that idea from that site ;)
I love blowing the monorail horn over crowds of people.

The joyous laughter that will come out? I've been next to a guy blowing a train horn, much like this...Big Wallaby wrote:I want to be there... to see your reaction.

Not him, but similar :)
Hey BW, can you tell me if the horns are two separate ones, or are the joined together?

Nah, first time you blow the thing, you'll have this wonderful look of surprise... then the laughter will come. It'll be awesome.
Does anyone know the part number for a Monorail horn?

At least at Disneyland, I'm not sure if it is the same at WDW.Does anyone know the part number for a Monorail horn?
Grover #1055
Apparantly they make a kit that includes a compressor/small tank. That will fit on my Jeep :)

I so want one. It would be a great addition to my Honda Civic, the factory horn of which is pretty pathetic.ktulu wrote:Oh yes :)

Re: Cool monorail shots
So the guys at the Monorail Society says that the #1055 is at WDW, and they are not sure what they use at Disneyland.
I wonder if they use the same ones...
Hey BW, you could always ask at the shop or measure them and look around them ;)

Now, just to find the place to purchase them...
During the 80's and 90's, Prevost put their air horn button at the driver's left heel. There were a couple times, before I got used to that, that I would be getting up out of the driver's seat and letting everyone know we had arrived.

Re: Cool monorail shots
I think that it was the Mark V's that had the grovers, I remeber reading something out there that got into how they got to look at the model # on the DL trains.ktulu wrote:So the guys at the Monorail Society says that the #1055 is at WDW, and they are not sure what they use at Disneyland.

Too bad there's no place for me to put a 40" air horn on my Colorado.....
Let me know if you guys find anything out!!

It is only 2.5 miles from where my dad works in LA. I called on friday to get pricing, but their customer service department was closed. I then called Dad to find out if he could stop by sometime soon :)
Once I know more about pricing I'll post. There is a kit for vehicles without onboard air. I was already thinking about putting onboard air onto my Jeep, so I might have to do some price comparisons.
Yeah, the guys at the monorail society put them in their cars. I emailed them about it, and they said it was the WDW trains and they weren't sure what DL used. The Grover #1055 is only 34". One of them put two of them in the truck of a '93 taurus. I'll be mounting them on a 2001 Jeep Wrangler :)Monorail_Red wrote:I think that it was the Mark V's that had the grovers, I remeber reading something out there that got into how they got to look at the model # on the DL trains.

If DL is still using Grover horns, they may be using the #1056's, just a guess based on pictures I've seen. I'm still going with dual #1055's :D:
