For your first trip back, you should take Purpura up on her offer to sign you in ON A WEEKDAY, you would have never survived the weekend crowd today!
Totally agree. Purpura should sign you in on a wk day. She can easily do this. Yesterday wasn't really even crowded, well, not in my location, nor on Main Street. A Mon. or Tues. might be best. DisneyMom simply can't volunteer because of her family & her work load. Not many can volunteer to help you because we work & don't actually know you. How abt calling your church or senior center for volunteer aides? Many would love to volunteer if a trip to D L was presented.

I said like disneymom and that is because she is a strong person who would wap me upside the head if I gave had a meltdown or hissy fit or what ever. It does not have to be her. Poor Purpura is volunteered, lol. I can afford the tickets next month so that is not a problem. The problem is that I will not put anyone's job on the line. Not risk it. I love her and trust her but I also need people to make sure I stay normal and give them no reason to haul me off. I think Purpura could do that job as chaperone and wapper. I know I could get her to go if I offered her a build a bear.

I have issues with authority. As a kid maybe 12 she would threaten to call the nut farm, pollice etc. Once in a fight a door to door sales man knocked on the door and she said she had called the police. The first 35 years were under threats that my father would come down on me. Thus I am thinking that is going to be one trigger for a shut down.

I appreciate the encouragement and I really need to go back and have fun instead of playing games all day. I could use the fresh air, socialization, being spoiled by CMs who treat you like you are their best guest, and exercise. I used to walk a mile or more in pin trading and doing rides.

I miss the CMs who treated you right even if it was cheap toy you were buying or one piece of candy. There was the two men and a women who every Friday or was it Saturday night would talk with me. Even hurt I would push myself a bit to do things like Splash Mountain but I paid for that, ouch.

Church gave up on me when mom got sick. They fixed the house but never could understand that I was not a normal person. She knew about my depression and did nothing. I had to try so hard to fit their mold and I lvoe and miss the church but I am born with a miswired brain to a mother who is highly sensitive and very close to the spectrum.

Thank for the support.
Hugs MainStreeter and thanks for the ideas.

We do have ACCESS here in O.C., the bus fares just went up after the first of the year, the fixed route fare is still a quarter, but the standard curb service and companion of ACCESS rider have gone up from $2.25 to $2.70. Personal care attendant and First Responders ride free, and premium door service is still $5. More info at http://www.octa.net.

Cool! They are a big help for my son when he is unable to take the regular bus routes (mostly when I don't want him hanging around/walking by himself in the dark). The local Senior Center here has discount passes for Access Services , so that is another thought. They also transport wheelchairs and ECV's as I recall. So someone in theory could travel with you and your WC/ECV to the Park or at least maybe the appropriate transfer station, hopefully saving you tons of time. I do know they have an interview process for access services, we had ours at the local senior center or they can come to your home.
I'm happy that you want to try to go back, but a little worried that you might try to do too much the first day there, and will be too nervous. Maybe small steps, just start out with DTD at first- Tortilla Joe's offers some Gluten-free fare, apparently! :)

I could pay $34 each way for shuttle service. The problem is that my city does not go far out of its city line and only for very important things. I could rent a van maybe but public transit is out of the question because I am 13 miles from DLR and cross county lines. RTD would be possible and I would have to travel two blocks the wait to board then spend two hours on their bus. I used to ride that bus to Los Angeles.

Yes food oh food would be nice but next month. I am trying to do this cheap and rather go in the park and eat there. I know the restaurants with chefs like plaza are safe.

I can rent or use medical to get an ECV. Food is set once I get the info. Gettng the ECV to the park is a problem but we are down to $80 for shuttle service and a rental van might be cheaper. Cost is not too much as to getting in.

Considering $250 for hospital and over $500 to calvin in one month. If mom had a passport we could cruise like he did, lol. I have to do this as there are so many meet and greets coming up and I so miss my friends. I keep telling others about how great the plaids were to me and defending them on anothe thread. I miss the people and the rides.

hugs to my cheerleaders and friends
Laurie :)

OK, just to add, maybe this isn't doable, but a thought.....
Can Access give you a door-to-door bus ride to Union Station? I have no idea how far it is from you, but from there you can ride the Metrolink OC line, then take route 430 bus to and from DLR Monday thru Friday. :)

Cries, the memories of the hours on them busses.
http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/bus_o ... es/460.pdf
That is about half a mile west of me at 5 points. I could take a city bus there or something but still it is two blocks to any bus stop but I can do that.

Wow you are a genius and I am so glad that they changed it so there is a bus that does not take two hours any more. Money is not a problem as long as I have change. I can see about getting a discount thing again. I can go to the city and pick up the forms for city transport.

Hugs again.

Now can you find me an E drive, lol.

They also have day passes you can buy on the bus; these are for the regular buses of course. Day passes on OCTA buses, for seniors/disabled is $1.25 and are valid until 11:59 p.m. . Remember that OCTA fareboxes no longer accept pennies. I don't know if the day passes are valid on intercounty buses or not; check the OCTA website at http://www.octa.net; check MTA 's (formerly RTD) site at http://www.metro.net for information on their services as well. Make sure you bring appropriate documentation of your disability (Medicare card, etc.; list is on OCTA's site) with you.

Hugs felinefan and thanks for the tip. I have decided that I could either take a taxi, city bus or metro bus up to 5 points then take the 460 to Disneyland. It goes from Los Angeles down town to three stops in Norwalk including the green line then to Knotts and then Disneyland. Money is not a problem as a couple dollars each way is not bad compared to renting a motel room or car.

Now to see how much the computer costs. I will later check on rentals locally.
So many cheerleaders and that is what I think I need most beside sleep.
Downtown at DLR freaks me out more than the park for some reason. Maybe because from the tram to the gate is open spaces, who knows.

Time to get serious.

Calvin does not know much about my life and I keep it that way as mom can drain him of any info and one slip of his tongue and I have to deal with her for life.

I need a couple of people who are strong emotionally and can keep me in line. I am like a puppy dog and latch on to strangers and help people. I can get road rage if I am exhausted or if things are not fair. That is my neurovariations and damage, miswired brain.

Admission next month is not problem I would do the 2fer and add the $25 park hopper then next time upgrade as I want to see everything. This month we have $100 left for the week after giving Calvin about $500 in food, cash, and stuff plus a $200 electric bill and $250 medical bill. So you see I probably would have had enough to get a premium pass, lol.

I am hesitating on getting the ECV. I can take the wheelchair and then use that to get to the front gate which is not my top choice. I can rent an ECV and break it down and take that but is hard for me and my back. I can rent an ECV and ride about half a mile to catch a bus or take a city bus then take the county bus. This I am delaying for some silly reason.

Food is not an issue as I can wait and get that from them.

I so want to go and see all the new rides. I would get a GAC and walk onto the rides that use exits for the most part unless the line is long.

Volunteers, ECV, transportation, nerve. I got the desire finally and not just to see friends. Mainstreeter is top in my list of CMs to meet and greet.

Wombat, my friend Calvin hear of your group and wants tickets, lol.
