Re: Job market
Too funny!
The problem with being able to buy anything now with low interest is being able to pay for it. No one has the money and those who do, are clutching it to their chests. It is sad that when prices go down, so does the ability to buy anything.
Like us, we would move in a New York minute IF we could sell this house. But getting all our $$$ tied up into two houses is not feasible.
At least gas is getting more affordable. It needs to drop even more.

Re: Job market
We're finally seeing some reality in gas pricing here. It's dropped about thirty cents in the last week. Regular is now $3.45. Oahu is under $3.Princess Susi wrote:At least gas is getting more affordable. It needs to drop even more.

Gas in my area, at least in our favorite gas station, has just dropped another 12 cents. We filled up today for $2.33 a gallon--and for once got change back!

We've been under $1.80 for over a week now -- plus we get an additional $0.10 off per gallon with our grocery store discount card.felinefan wrote:Gas in my area, at least in our favorite gas station, has just dropped another 12 cents. Sure beats paying twice that.

Re: Job market
We drove by the gas station today, and dang if it hadn't dropped down to $2.29! I wonder how soon it'll be before we start seeing "Gas War" signs popping up--haven't seen those since the 60s. For those of you who are too young to know what a gas war was, it was when the gas stations would drop their prices in order to attract business. You'd see gas go down from a quarter a gallon (why did they have to get rid of the cent sign key? My old word processor had it, but computers today don't! Grrr!) to twenty cents, to fifteen cents, but I think they quit when it dropped down to ten cents a gallon. Although I admit that this worked only if there were gas stations within sight of one another, like one on each corner of an intersection.
Ah, memories.... :D:
