Thanks for the support Hobie & Wombat. I gave this career a lot of thought and I really do believe I'm going into it for the right reasons and I think I will do well. I was mainly curious about how other people felt because I know that service industry jobs can sometimes leave people very jaded. I hope that never happens to me. I've seen it in teachers far too many times.

I agree with DisneyMom that working with kids may be for you especially autistic and SID kids. I see the parks and public places different as I get older.
I will love working with kids, I like kids very much in general. I see life differently as I get older. I think youth and/or lack of wisdom are behind the actions of a lot of jerks. Or sadly, some people are maybe never treated kindly and become what they've seen. I do take people one at a time and try to consider what the reason is behind their actions so I totally agree with you. I treat people with kindness, sometimes when they don't deserve it, I guess. I teach my kids the same but also that being kind does not mean being a chump. FelineFan, you're right, there are different catagories and it's impossible to differentiate. However, idiots like Denis Leary should be forced to live with my family for a month. He fits clearly into the uninformed, outspoken jackass category that seriously needs to be eliminated.

I am a big jerk because I have SID, ADD, and poor skills from stuff like mother. Some jerks grow up with parents who bully staff. Some jerks are on medicine, booze or drugs and some have health issues.

If we can teach kids early on how to act with others then there are fewer jerks. If we can diagnose infants and toddlers with autism, ADD, SID, and other disorders then those kids will not grow up to be jerks.

Tonight I had to pee really bad but was going to hold it until the last minute as usual. It took the thought of candy to get me up to the bathroom. This is part of my SID and other quirks. I never got the reinforcement and training needed while my mother was putting things away while I was napping or at work or school. Training of children and identification makes for less jerks.

I have no children, neices or nephews but I have nudges and pushed kids toward a better life and hopefully stopped a few from being jerks.

That's wonderful. We need more adults like you. I agree that we need to teach our children behavior regardless of diagnosis, it's a big hobby of mine at home. After reading your posts I find it very hard to believe that you are remotely a jerk.
