So, I'm officially on vacation as well, minus the packing I need to finish

I have schedules, so CM's beware!
That's is ok, someone last year clearly told me I was worthles and he is right. Just stay away from the 605 Freeway as I am saving my burger wrappers and the husks from my tamales. Going to throw the at you when you drive by.

Besides I think Ms Matterhorn, Pupura, Lady Ulrike and CBeilbey are enough SGT members to make me happy for a life time or until I drop another tamale on the floor.

DO not drop any tamales on the floor, what a waste. I love Mexican!. How about when we go to Lucille's or Outback again? Cbeilby wants to know. ;)

Okay...I have a computer again! We are now at the Embassy Suites Burlingame right next to SFO! We catch our plane tomorrow to John Wayne. We are SO tired already from being on the road since the 3rd...We are gonna HAVE to rest tomorrow night when we get into DL! I will keep ya posted on the plans for meals. So far Saturday the 18th is Goofy's Kitchen for dinner at 7PM. Sunday the 19th, we want to do Blue Bayou for lunch at 2pm. We would also like to do lunch at Blue Bayou on Wednesday, but I am not sure yet, so that is not a set in stone plan...

I cannot believe we are STILL onn the road. It has been a tiring trip. We went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk yesterday all day and guess what? Marini's had chocolate covered bacon! So, YES! I have some to send to each of you who want to try it. Not much, but you will get a taste. It is....interesting tasting...That is all I will say about it!

My back has started acting up...too much walking at Santa Cruz and not enough rest. :(

We drove down to Monterey last night to stay at the Marriot only to call Ralph's uncle this mornig and find out they were not feeling up to seeing us. Oh well! That was an expensive little un-needed sidetrip. We could have just stayed in Santa Cruz and called from there and found out the same thing. Next time that is what we will do, the Marriot in Monterey sucked. Not really good service there. A nicely appointed hotel, but lousy maid service and very expensive for a bed to sleep in for one night!

We stayed at a cool hotel in Santa Cruz. The Dream Inn. A bit pricey, but every room is on the ocean side with a most awesome view and the waves lull you to sleep at night. I took a walk on the beach yesterday and got my tootsies all sandy and cold wet! That water is freezing! Not like the gulf in Florida...Nosirreebob!
I went to the beach again today and wiggled my toesies in the wavesies and found some shells and cool stones all polished by the sea! I am a mermaid! I MUST have the ocean. (I HAVE to get out of Denver and back to the coast. Maybe Santa Cruz, it is now on our short list of places to look at to maybe move to...along with Orlando and Orange County, CA if we want to work for the mouse.)

When we found we could not visit Uncle Fred today :( , we drove back to Santa Cruz and played on the beach and the wharf for a couple hours and then drove up here to South San Francisco. I wish we had a day to spend in SF. Next trip! We did get a day in Berkeley! ;) That was fun! Our old neighborhood and we got to have lunch at our favorite restaurant. YUM! La Mediteranee!

Anyhoo, I will post tomorrow from the DL Hotel. We should have more plans firmed up when we talk to the concierge tomorrow to make more resses.
Cannot wait to see everyone

Grumpy Pirate, are you and the Mrs. Pirate coming to DL to join us all? That would be marvelous, simply swell.

Ralphie found a cute litle present for you, Grumpy, at the Santa Cruz boardwalk yesterday. He wants to send it to you. I will PM you tomorrow or the next day! ;)

I got the tamales from a lady selling them from her van. Jose at the restaurant was shocked that I got them 12 for $10 and not $30.

Today I went to the freeway and waited but nobody of import from SGT drove by. Sigh now what to do with these rotting eggs and tamales husks.

Purpura you are my dearsest and one of my true SGT friends so yep we can do Lucilles again. BRISKET. I love Mexican food and eat at Rosewoods but not many consider that to be true mexican cuisine but it is very close to homemade.

MY THREAD NOW.
All about food and NOTES. :D:

I used the Embassy Suites there to house students and teach classes. Nice place. Take a walk along the water.

The Dream Inn is above the beach I surfed off of years ago. Ahh, the memories of my misspent youth. There's a cool little surf museum out on the point in an old lighthouse.
