GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:True, but you could still put a charge deposit on a Credit card, to hold it. If you show up, the charge is reversed, if not, thanks for the deposit!! (and give some of that to the serving CM's!!)
I am sure the Service CM's get taken for tips and such as well during the free dining.. (as i highly doubt many guests leave them cause they "are on the plan" and tips are only added for large parties...
it's a bad deal all around imo...
(i always leave a tip at the table, even if all the server does is bring me a drink.. and even if te tip is "included in the bill" i just feel odd NOT leaving one....)

I always tip, too. If the service is exemplary, I make sure to leave an appropriately good tip. I always try to show my appreciation for good service. I've been in the foodservice biz myself, and I know what it meant when someone appreciated when I kicked things up a notch.
As for Free Dining time,.....erm..I tend to stay away during that time of year, if possible.....it helps to keep my "choke-a-b****-reflex" down....

Oh no, that is discouraging. We've had this trip planned for over a year! We do already have our reservations so that's good. I guess if nothing else I'll come back with some good SG stories.

It dosn't matter how you pay for the food, proper dining etiquette dictates that you leave a tip. I have had to travel a lot for work, and always tip, with an added thank you. You should ALWAYS thank those that bring you food and drink! thats just good manners.
