Ooopsie! :o: I usually am pretty good at editing before hitting submit, but I'm glad it didn't go to waste! Thanks for the story--goes to show that at Knott's, management is always right, and everybody else is wrong (even when management is wrong and everyone else is right). Especially a certain ride operations manager.

Been wet, very wet. Can't mow the lawn for fear of losing the tractor.
First day with no rain was today. Now, hopefully the yard will dry out. The dogs went out yesterday and sank in the mud up to their knees and then tracked mud thru the house.

Wet is an understatement. A section of Ficquette Rd, right at one of the entrances to Independence Community has been partially flooded since Fay. Barriers were set up blocking the right turn lane because of how deep the water was there and traffic has been moving over into the cross hatched area and the left turn lane for the other direction after it because of how deep the water in the traffic lane has been. The storm yesterday put water across more of the road and my uncle told me today (I was off so didn't go down that way) they had the road completely closed off so traffic is having to detour. I hope either the water drains off or it gets pumped away (assuming there is somewhere to pump it to) soon. I go that way to and from work and while I can just stay on SR 535 to Reams Rd. that's a longer route, especially since all of the traffic normally on Ficquette will also be going the same way.

While not on the road there are other areas along the side of Ficquette that are flooded out. One area the water is so deep it was up to the bolt on a fire hydrant hose connection after Fay and yesterday morning was down to just below the connection. I wouldn't be surprised if the storm brought the water back up over the connection.

The problem is that Fay completely saturated the ground so all the rain we've had since has no place to go and floods occur. Then we get storms like yesterday that dump so much rain so fast drainage systems would have a hard time anyway even if the ground wasn't completely saturated and rivers and lakes running high. So much rain was coming down yesterday Center Street in the MK was a river!

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

I feel your pain! My first job was in foods at Wildwater Kingdom when I was 14! I swear some of the guests there scarred me for life!

Actually, I am full-blooded Oregonian Australian. And my wife even almost bought Teri Irwin's Bearded Dragons when she moved back to Australia with Steve. Mind you, that is a true story.
