Is it getting that bad? Does anyone think that the rest of our family is getting away with something because we have the card? God knows, I would gladly trade the card for normalcy for my son. I'm upset by the fact that some people are using the system that we need desperately. Without that card, there are no rides for my son this December.

No CM will say anything to you about it, they shouldn't - even though someone may be thinking something. They will simply smile, wish you a magical day, and let you right through. Why worry about what people think? Just as long as your family gets the right treatment the card allows, it should not matter.

Hey, don't let SG's that abuse the GAC get to you. Use it as necessary, that is what it is for, to assist you and your family in having a magical time!

Don't let what people think get to you. If you really need the card, then you need it. And that's all there is to it. Just try to have a wonderful time with your family. :)

Hey if 80 year old grandma was in with the group, i wouldn't have said/thought/fretted at all!! I would have thought it was super cool!

It was just that it was VERY obvious that the GAC was being abused, and id seemed like they brought grandma on the trip just to get access to the pass..

It's a great program for those that NEED it.. (and not only will your family appreciate it, but the guests as well.

We have a friend with an autistic child (age 5) and taking him onto rides at our local park is distracting to everyone in the line)..

Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it. When we were there in October I had thought a couple of CMs looked a little more carefully at our GAC which I actually appreciated as I'd like to have abusers tossed out. I read on another board that you don't need a note from a dr. anymore which really surprised me. I've seen GAC abuse myself. My friend, who really irritates me at times, has a son my boys' age who has Cerebral Palsy and she let another family (with no issues) who they were vacationing with use it when they went on rides. I told her how wrong I felt this was as it makes individuals and families who need it seem less credible and it's morally disgusting. They don't NEED it, they shouldn't use it. I'm really grateful to Disney for this card because we really do need it and I'm grateful to the CMs who understand.

GP was correct. ;) Lots/too many drunks in a family park! Many fights in TL & CC. TL seems the worst from what I've been told. Child & elder abuse is a huge issue & very fine line. The child abuse takes everyone down emotionally & is so difficult to forget. Child abuse is abuse like non other! Has any CM seen a security officer give all then break down because the child is given back, or he/she knows the child will be returned in a day or two? Security tears are real & hurt me to the core. Stroller fights are pure hell & take the psychology of Job. Drug use & verbal assults are way over the top. The C M abuse has become more of a "sport" than in yrs. past. It's horrid!! Radio Control knows my voice & sends one of 2 D L Security Officers I'm close to if I really need help. Don't even try to mess with me SG. I am so covered. ;) C Ms who can't get along & have no brains is on the rise this yr. CMs who steal then swear cameras lie. Stings don't seem to be a deterrent, or the "I'll not be caught" mentality has been inbred. Lots & lots of fake tender being passed. We are updated almost daily on new scams. DTD then DCA are targets of big time C C fraud, at least for the last 2 wks. Theft is a given, yet Guest Service the hell out of customers, call a lead, call stores on either side & shrink can be lessened to a degree. PCOs do a great job controlling as much shrink as possible, they also help keep other crimes down. Put a PCO in my store anytime & my day is made! Have a close PCO friend & the stories are amazing!! M G tickets & passes are always freud probs which esculate way out of control. Lots of SG are escorted out because they choose to use bushes & trees. IDIOTS! Paramedic & CFA runs are always extremly scarey to me. We rarely know the out come. The list goes on & on just as do the SGT. Learn the security codes. This is of great value. Security does have a fantastic sense of humor & chilling with them can almost heal the the "Stupids" residue. I encourage most CMs to "adopt" a D L Security Officer. Life will be much better. :)

Wow.
All I can say is that you all must do a fantastic job, because all the times I've been there, I haven't seen anything like that occur! Even when I happened to notice some plain-clothes security tailing some teenage SG's, and rode the same boat on POTC with them, and PURPOSELY was trying to find them after the ride to see what happened, everything was totally discreet.
I did get stopped on the way out of the Star Trader once after buying a bunch of pins (one of them must have set off an alarm) and the CM was very nice and polite while she checked my bag.....course, I enthusiastically showed her my receipt....
Thank You all for keeping us feeling safe and happy while dealing with some very serious issues. I hope that all you CM's feel secure, but I can't help but think that sometimes you don't.

I think I saw the same thread as the OP. I mentioned on it that the GAC is supposed to give the disabled EQUAL opportunity, not better. There was a story about a disabled person with 14 family members that all went to the disabled line of a particular attraction. That is abuse of the GAC, my friends. They should have gone to the regular line and the disabled person to the disabled line and met up with their party when they got to the front! I was under the impression that was how it worked. When I was at the Parks all these past trips on my ECV I went to the disabled line and the CMs told me to bring Ralphie with me. One person I can undrstand, 14 is insane.

I like it now that more and more attractions are streamlining the lines and putting the disabled through the same line. It makes it fair and equal. The GAC is not supposed to be a FOL pass and it ticks me off when I see people arguing with CMs that they get priority because of the GAC! it is not right.

I dislike that as much as the NON disabled people who crowded the disabled people out of a view in the Parade disabled viewing area.

It seems there are a bunch af SGs out there that think they are somehow better than the rest of us and have special dispensation and get perks the rest of us don't.
They need to learn the rules apply to EVERYONE and they don't get better or special treatment unless they paid for it as in VIP tours or special seatings, for shows. One must pay extra for these priviledges and I see so many people trying to sneak into these perks without paying for them.

When we go to WDW on the Plat plan, all these special perks are included because we pay a shitload of $$$ to have them, and I always see the SGs trying to scam the system and sneak into a special viewing area where we are, or trying to get *freebies* that they think we are getting free but do not realize that we PAID for them. They whine and point out that we are getting something they are not and want it too and it always satisfying to hear the CM tell them "They paid for it. You want to pay for it?" When they hear the price, they fold up like a cheap lawn chair and shut up!

I hate that SGs think they are entitled to get FOL priviledges with a GAC or something for nothing. I see people all the time that have an ECV or wheelchair and I see family members taking turns riding it. They get it for the sole purpose of getting a GAC and thinking it gets them FOL priviledges. They get mad when they don't get FOL, cause they paid for the chair or ECV just to get it! Oops!
I like it when SGs get their just desserts. I am feeling a litle mean today! Could be the menopause! ;)
