Stupid Guest Tricks

Having always been that type of geek, I was very happy when we did the KTTK tour (when I was just a guest). It was the highlight of our stay. The things that we learned made the rest of the trip that much better. I did not feel that it "ruined the magic" I thought it made some things better.

Now on the Jungle Cruise we always refer to the hippobottomlesses and we do take a lot of extra time on Main Street to read the windows.

Learning "How they do that" just enhances the experience for some.

Perhaps what we need for those who are concerned about "ruining the magic" is a tour that just points out the little details lost on most SG's. Charge about $30 per person and show the siginicance of Main St and the windows, the endless chess game at priates, the chess pieces on the HM, the sewers in Liberty Sq., etc. I bet you could get a 3 hour tour out of all the little details without ever going backstage or revealing any tricks to the magic.

That sounds a lot like the tour Zazu gave me back when I was still "Earning My Ears". I learned a lot from that tour.

That is a wonderful idea and I'm willing to bet it'd be a hit.

Now I would be normally be inclined to agree with ya Churchy about seeing backstage. As a matter of fact, we were back in that same place several hours earlier on the KTTK tour. But this was different.

I think what bothered me the most is that there were like crushed boxes stacked on palettes back there...some bags....just the usual stuff that accumulates on a daily basis, I am sure.

Now if there were planters to hide some of that, okay....I can see it, but this was so...back of the strip mall looking...it was a little depressing on entering the park. But as someone who was once trapped against a wall on Main Street having a panic attack during Spectro, I can appreciate the need to do it. :D:

I agree, Walt would have insisted on it. I have seen them do this at DL but it is not forced, you can use the bypass or MS or the shops. I have never used the bypass, maybe if they use it next week while I'm there I will just to see whats back there. I'm a "behind the scenes" sort of person as it is, I just like to walk through the shops on my way out, or wait until the crowd dies down. I figure I might as well hang out in the park instead of the shoving match tram station.

Except for the $30 and only taking three hours.
