First of all, Kungaloosh! We went there for the first time on our last trip and had an evening to remember.

That said...

I have always loathed Pleasure Island. I am jumping for joy that it's going.

There are plenty of bars in the world and only one Walt Disney World. I don't think it's too much to ask for Disney to create other nighttime things to do- and return the Marketplace DTD area to what I remember it being as a child- a place where you could go, sit outside and spend time with your family without hordes of drunks everywhere. I for one never felt safe at DTD- on the busses or at the shopping area- after PI opened.

If they're smart, they'll turn the AC into a dinner experience. I'd pay 50 bucks a head for that, no questions asked.

Forget marrying Hathaway Brown I want to BE Hathaway Brown LOL and I have the matchbook and cocktail napkin from Atlantis to prove it! ;)

Oh, I can't help but think that somewhere up there Walt is smiling. Considering Pleasure Island in Pinnochio stood for everything he hated about the carnival industry or so I read once...I could never believe they built it to begin with.

I cannot afford the $5000 san antonio trip and the trip to WDW to have one last kongaloosh. life is not fair and i waited ten years hoping to get back but not possible. so sad, so much missed. life not fair. so sad taht I will miss pleasure island before it dies.

I would think that they could move the Adventurers club to AK or AKL!

it would make sense there.

Too bad, the one time DW and I did go to PI we had a good time!

So now I guess they will install a 24/7 Jimboree?

Was a nice safe area for CMs to go and have a little fun after work. Especially for CPs. Now all those CPs running to DTOrlando without the CP bus service seems a lot less safe. 8trax was a also a great place to meet with co-workers after work.

But I understand Disney's decision. These clubs, with the exception of AC and CW, were ghost towns outside of Thursday and the weekend. Thursday night was awesome. Mostly CMs, a lot of fun and AC is geared to CMs on Thursday in the jokes and whatnot. I really do wish AC could have been kept. Now it will probably be turned into another character dining ADR nightmare.

Another issue is that the parks are open so late now most of the year. Many times a park is open at least until midnight and then people want to get up early for the AM EMH. It doesn't leave in much time for PI anymore.

WHAT?! No way, they cannot close AC and Comedy Warehouse! I love those places!!! Oh well, I'll have to have one last trip to each before Sep. 27th.

That was my thought exactly, Pirate! That might actually get me out to one of those two locations!

Damn, I just had a girls Night Out there the other day! Damn!

Hope they don't baby it all up with "family" stuff. I hate that sort of stuff. "Family Friendly." Honest, I really don't like the fact that people refer to Disney as an all out kiddy land for families with young children. They gotta have some sort of adult friendly places as well. Nothing where some parent Nazi's can drag their screaming brats into claiming, "DISNEY IS FOR CHILDREN!!!!!"
Let's hope it'll be turned into a nice classy clubbing area for the over 18 set - I can imagine sleek lounges, pretty and handsome waitress aged 35 and under ... stuff like that.
