Zazu, you locals also spend more time in the parks and can notice such things. I can't recall anything on my last trip, but I was also not looking for it :)

You can ask my wife this one... I tend to analyze evrything everytime i go to the parks. I tend to zero in one the mistakes, the flubs, the les them disney ( More like Eisgner-esque ) item that tend to how up....
Its like a magnet to me... for instance the same day that i styarted this pot i was walking over the bridge leading to cosmic rays, and before you get to the bridge their is a grassy area to the right overlooking the river sitting area. I noticed two male mallard ducks their. One duck was standing and the other was laying down and had his eyes closed and only opening ever so often. This made me zero on him and found that he had been hurt ( feathers on one wing missing ) and concerned me on if he could fly or not. Being this is Disney property I figured he would be ok and not have to worry about being hunted by VP Chaney

but still how many people walk by and never notice something like that.. or that the men showers in the utilidors have a mold issue, or that the eletrical fixture are open with no bulb init cauing a safety issue for a depreed enterainment person ( just messing with you ) but still...
Cheers....

How about the scaffolding that has been holding up the Liberty Square bridge for a really long time now?

Its not all maintnance issues in the parks, especially MK.
The last time i went to play in the parks, custodial must have taken the day off (and in some places it looked like they took the week off) however, the worst was inside that ice cream joint in tomorowland. There was trash everywhere on the ground. The sad thing was that they were not busy and were completely over staffed that night - no body wanted to bend over and pick up some trash or find someone with a broom.
MK has just been dirty lately IMO.
Then Again, I have yet to see the 5 inch cockroaches at MK that are over at Studios!

You wanna see bad maintenence? Go to Knott's and inspect the rides, the breakrooms, etc., but for God's sake don't eat the food! You can whine all you want about how things need to be fixed, but maintenece will say it's okay--those poor people were overworked and had to be creative in getting stuff fixed, because management refused to budget for replacement parts. I'm amazed there hasn't been a total bloodbath at that dump by now....

Well if you have not noticed the majority of the "hired help" is haitian and speek little to no english..... wtf is casting thinking... of coure I wa informed by a certin person at an undiscolsed cotsuming that the laundry facility was staffed by 25 CM 1 Co-Ordinator and 1 GM, but when the fine folks from the federal goverment stared to hint that they where going to do an inspection of certin areas... well.... lets just say that we only have a Co-Ordinator and a GM washing our cloths now..... I think all the staff that "left" was name Jose Doe

Being local didn't make me notice these things, it's my training as a Show Quality Monitor, and I hate it!
Now I can't walk through a shop or restaurant -- on property or off -- without knowing exactly how many bulbs are burned out. I see problems that my wife can't see even when I point them out.
Yeah, I'm basically a perfectionist, and that tour of duty brought out the worst of that. The good news is, Disney is *still* better maintained than almost anywhere else I go. (And I don't even visit Knotts any more.)

Zazu...
I would hate for the two of us to get together and go "lookin" for the show issue... You know.... we could make it a cast tour... Zazu' and The Doctor Misguided Bad Show Tour....

Shorty has been my nickname for years. My brother gave it to me exactly because I'm not short. Kind of like the huge dude I saw in some movie nicknamed Tiny.

Is that what that scaffolding doing? I was wondering what they were doing that took so long, I thought they were just doing maintenance on the bridge.
I too tend to notice bad show and things being broken, especially burned out light bulbs. I can spot one of them a mile away sometimes. I've called maintenance on blown bulbs 3 or 4 times and they got fixed pretty quickly.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Well, my point was the regulars are going to notice things more then us casual visitors.
