Will this work? I am coming for 4 days in August and wouldn't mind hooking up with a CM (not in THAT SENSE...get your mind out of the gutter) and giving him/her some cash for 4 days of passes....
Thoughts?
I seriously can't believe the moderators of the board have let her say this wide open out there....she says this is how she always goes into DL....
So if it is true - castmembers feel free to hook me up and I can put $100 in your hand!
As a DLR cast member, I get myself/hubby +3 guests 16 times a year. We CAN and HAVE gotten fired for selling our sign ins-- I know there was a crackdown when some night ticket takers got busted for doing just that, and 10 got fired.
We CAN get you a discounted ticket, and most of us will do so if you ask one of us, but cannot sell our sign ins or our comps.

Cast Members can get a few people into the park twelve days each calendar year. The number is generally three, unless you have more dependents. We also get four 1-day park hoppers that are clearly marked "Not For Sale".
If you're not related to the CM, the CM is required to accompany you at all times while in the park. If the guests come to the attention of security and the CM is not present, the CM can be in serious trouble including termination.
If you *pay* a CM for the use of this admission procedure, even if you behave yourself, the CM will be disciplined, again possibly including termination.
Being desirous of retaining my discount privileges, if an unknown guest asked me to comp them in, I would immediately turn them in to Security, just in case it was a sting operation.
Florida bans ticket scalping on the premises, this means that can't CMs offer tickets for sale (including legal ones). It also means that guests cannot *solicit* for sale of tickets (including free ones, or ones bartered for lunch or money). This could get you arrested if you don't agree to leave the property at once.
I trust a California CM will chime in soon, but the short version is: don't try this at (Mickey's) home!
Yep, it's the same for us. Two people from my area got fired because of it. I'm not sure if California bans ticket scalping, though, someone doing that would probably be paid a visit by Disney Security, though.
Like pattimelt said, if you know a CM (and you're here, so you do) to get you a discounted ticket, we'll probably be happy to do so for you. But our sign ins and comp tickets cannot, under any circumstances, be exchanged for money.

With all the neighbors, friends and family why waste a commodity like a pass when you can get on the good side of someone you know and trust.
Someday when Disney apologizes and clears my records I will got back to the parks but never alone, too many evil people. I so want to see the new toy story ride, sigh.
I would never give a stranger passes into the park and risk my job. At least I could get dinner from my family and friends, lol. I wonder if security would esxort someone off the park for harrasssing the CMs for free passes.

Only thing I would add that hasn't been mentioned here is that if you pay someone to use their sign-in or comp ticket privilege, not only do they run the risk of getting terminated if they get caught, you can get escorted out and not be entitled to any refund. You can also be escorted off the property if you are caught just asking a random CM to sign you in and/or offering to pay them for it. I think legally you can be charged with trespassing or get a trespass warning in both these cases but I've never heard of this happening.
Keep in mind that Disney has plain clothes security officers and lots of security cameras out on the esplanade and Downtown Disney to spot such transactions. Though these efforts are largely aimed at cracking down on CMs abusing their privileges, the SGs who go along with it are fair game as well.
Disney may let its CMs and guests get away with a lot of things, but they will not be lenient when they catch someone stealing from the company, including CMs abusing their sign-in and comp ticket privileges.

I'm not a CM but have read a lot of posts by CM's and talk to many every time I go to a park. First, I would recomend only buying tickets directly from Disney, AAA, the state or one of the city passes they sell at Costco or one of the theme park websites, basically from a trusted source. Great deal tickets are often a scam, I have heard many horror stories of scam tickets for WDW and there is always some guy on ebay wanting to sell 2 or 3 days of a 5 day hopper to DL. The guys selling on the streets will rip you off also and scalping is illigal in California, you are not allowed to sell tickets to anything at the venue itself.
As far as CM sign ins go there was a post last year about this where DL hired quite a few people and gave them their sign ins right away instead of the grace period they used to have (90 days I believe) and these CM's were soliciting people near the ticket booths to sell their sign ins as stated for $50.00. I understand Disney security caught something like 25 CM's and they were all terminated, but this is hearsay.
IMHO, it is OK to look for a good deal on tickets as long as its a legitimate deal and not defrauding the company. You admission price along with the money you spend supports the company, it help them to be profitable, hire good CM's like here on this site and continue to add new attractions to the parks making them better every time you go.

this type of thing pisses me off... personally if i don't know you.. i won't sign you in not even if you are willing to pay me... just pay for the tickets and quit being such a cheap skate about it if you have enough money to get there.. then you should have enough to buy tickets.. the end...

Not here in DL, it's not. It's not until the end of May.
