They show up whenever it is inconvenient. And the tourists help keep the levels down by plastering them on their cars. Only use for those tourists is that and to pay our taxes.

Nope. My username should be grumpy local. But if the tourists want to pay me money, they are welcome to.

If you read the article, it says they come out in late spring, then again in late summer. They're considered beneficial because they recycle organic matter.

They haven't appeared yet (knocks on wood).

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…

Just remember your can of non-stick cooking spray (PAM) to protect the chrome and paint on your car. Just keep it off the windows.

One thing I heard from a CM while on a WDW trip during lovebug season is that they typically come out during/after a wet spell that followed a dry spell...

(Of course, on the same trip I was also told the University of Florida "they thought they'd eat mosquitos" myth by a boat skipper on the way to the Wilderness Lodge...)

I did not see any during my days at WDW this weekend, and they were also absent on the drive back to Merritt Island. They are on there way though, much more predictable than hurricanes, and as has been posted come in two waves - April-May and September-October.

I Rain-Ex my windows because it is easier to get the buguts off.

I'm driving to north Georgia today so I'll report later if any are spotted and where.

I despise the love bugs. They are so annoying. It's just wrong for bugs to be having sex on Donald Duck during the parade! I am convinced that lovebugs are a sign that God has a sense of humor. They hatch, have sex, and die, there is no use for them!
