It's a throwback from the Inquisition days of old...

Actually it's more because the good kids and people in those groups go out of their way to invite the worst of the worst out there hoping that the "good Christian atomosphere" will make them want to change their ways. How little they know...

That and others take it as an opportunity to rebel against the rules that they would normally be afraid to break, thinking they can get away with it. For others it's one of the few times that their parents would let them go to the parks (long story on that one) But as a Christian, it disgusts me to see so many doing crud like that and giving us a bad name.

What do you mean you won't smile for the camera?

I dunno.. the bus-loads of 12 years old who don't speak a word of english may follow a close second. :)

Infamous gradnite story

Post by Boy1nterrupted » Sun Feb 08, 2004 12:26 pm

During my second year of gradnites at the Haunted Mansion, we had the great idea to take all the "contraband" that we aquired and display it in the glass case at the tower area. Needless to say we had an impressive show of plant life that we named "REEFER Madness". The next day the display had miraculously dissappeared never to be seen again...

that sounds suspiciously like the graveyard maintenance crew at Mansion back in my day. Our old A lead would get us brand spanking new flashlights for evacs, lock them up in those knarly lockers in service, and find the bolt cut and the flashlights gone when opening the next day. They also broke my personalized coffee mug that I stored in one of the lockers whenever I'd take summer shifts there...that crew reminds me of certain members of my family - they want something of yours, it's theirs no matter what precautions you try to take... :(

I actually LOVE Grad Nights! Other cast members are always complaining about rude teenagers and the likes but I have never had a rude teenager at a Grad Night and I have worked quite a few. Maybe it's because teens like to joke around and they're just there to have fun? Or maybe it's because I look like I'm their own age and I also like to joke around and just have fun? Anyway, I love the music also. And my FAVORITE Grad Nights ever worked? Owl Photo, baby! The Critter House/edit room was blowin up during those nights!

I LOVE grad nights too! I've had a few rude teens, but not many, most of them were REALLY nice, even when they were complaining about something... of course I AM the same age as they are, so idk if that has anything to do with it... but even the few who were rude, weren't too bad... at 3am I'm generally too tired to remember them anyway. The party we had the morning after the last grad night ended kicked butt last year!

Am I the only one that finds the hour between 3am and 4am the hardest to survive? For me, it always seems like that hour lasts longer than any other hour and is the hardest to stay awake during. I can make it til 3 ok, and after 4 I'm generally ok, but it's not a good idea to send me on my lunch at 3:15 unless you're gonna be kind enough to come find me and wake me up when I'm supposed to be back.

Wow..some of these are horrifyingly hysterical....

I'm working my first Grad Nite this coming Thursday...someone told me the location is "Main Gate"...anyone know or remember what the CMS at Main Gate do? Just confiscate all the cool stuff kids bring in?

At Main Gate, at least a couple of years ago, you basically make sure all the kids go to Disneyland and not DCA (that's not exactly tough) and then make sure they don't overwhelm the Security.

Ok...is that including going through their stuff/telling kids without tickets to bugger off? That's what I was told...but don't the actual Main Gate CMS do that stuff?

Hm...sounds kind of boring for a 9pm-3am shift. Lol!
