I just finished my taxes. I used the short form. It read:
How much did you make last year?
Add ten percent.
Send it in.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

I thought I heard somewhere that Captain Hook's name was James Hook.Cheshire Figment wrote:I have been trying to find out what was Captain Hook's name before his hand was cut off by a certain nasty little boy dressed in green.
And I have it from very reliable sources that Figments enjoy Chicago Style Pizza and Chocolate Mousse.

Yes, in the book Peter Pan (and the stage play) he's known as James Hook. Barrie gave him an extensive backstory, including college at Eton.joanna71985 wrote:I thought I heard somewhere that Captain Hook's name was James Hook.
Actually, in this instance, the Wikipedia entry for Hook is rather complete and accurate:

Hmm, I read "Peter and the Starchasers" and I guess they could say that Black Stache was actually James Hook, just using a alias?Theme Park Where wrote:Yes, in the book Peter Pan (and the stage play) he's known as James Hook. Barrie gave him an extensive backstory, including college at Eton.

Guess they didn't do much research before writing the book?

Don't think they cared too much what Barrie said about the original characters. And it does explain why a pirate without a hook would be called "Hook". He wouldn't. He'd have another name, then would change it to Hook when his crew automatically started calling him that after he lost his hand and gained a weapon.

True!! Its been awhile since I read the book, but if I remember, the Black Stash moniker could have been an alias in the story in the first place!Theme Park Where wrote:Don't think they cared too much what Barrie said about the original characters. From what I had heard - as from a fellow CM, was that Donald had a deadbeat sister who waltzed in one day and dumped her three little boys on him and Daisy.

This is from Wikipedia so might not be completely accurate.
And here is a list of the entire Duck family.
From here.Huey, Dewey, and Louie are the sons of Donald's sister; in Donald's Nephews, Donald's sister is named Dumbella, but in the comics, her full name is Della Thelma Duck. In the original theatrical shorts, they were originally sent to visit Donald for only one day; in the comics, the three were sent to stay with Donald on a temporary basis, until their father came back from the hospital (the boys ended up sending him there after a practical joke of putting firecrackers under his chair). In both the comics and animated shorts, the boys' parents were never heard from or referred to again after these instances, with the boys ending up permanently living with Donald, in keeping with Disney's usual elimination of characters' parents.[clarify] All four of them live in the fictional city of Duckburg, in the fictional state of Calisota.
And here is a list of the entire Duck family.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Re: What do characters eat? Questios about park characters.
I always thought that the reason Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy had nephews and nieces was that Disney didn't want them to have kids; you know, the implied sex thing. And adopting family was nobler than being regular parents. I mean, remember how when "Fantasia" was made, in the 'Afternoon of a Faun' scene, it's said that Disney told the animators that there were to be no nipples on the centaurs, etc.? Hence the term "un-Disney' to imply something that didn't line up with Disney's Victorian morality. (The Victorians had some pretty whack ideas, insisting that arms and legs, whether on people or furniture, had to be called limbs, etc..)
Anyway, that's what I thought it was.
