You know the weird thing about this? if you watch the special edition of the DVD for pirates of the carribean there is a video of the ride when it first opened along with the opening ceremony, but any ways in the video of the ride the second drop is just after the jail scene, so your "stupid" guest could have possibly been right.

I was working in Frontierland when a guest comes up to me...
Guest: Where is the panning for gold?
Me: Panning for gold? That's not here, that's actually at Knott's Berry Farm.
Guest: No. We were here a few years ago and they had it somewhere around here.
Me: I guerentee you that it wasn't. But it is at Knotts...
Actually, even the Pan-for-Gold is gone from Knott's now. :( And so is the Haunted Shack!
I've had numerous guests insist on things and tell me I'm "too young" to remember anything...I'm older than people think I am, first of all (I'm 26 but look no older than 17) and secondly, I have an excellent memory. I had a guest argue about where the Haunted Mansion was and I kept telling her and telling her...she was so rude and insistant that it "has always been in Fantasyland"...she left only to actually hunt me down about an hour or so later JUST to tell me that SHE was right....My eyes got all big  and I was like, "Wha...?? You found it in Fantasyland??" and she goes, "No, YOU said it was in Fantasyland...I TOLD you it was in Frontierland!"....I just smiled and said, "Well good for you!" and then ran off to tell everyone how stupid she was...it's in NEW ORLEANS SQUARE, lady!! NOT Fantasyland, NOT Frontierland!! Jeez!!! She was wrong both times!
Oh, I also loved the guests who would insist that a certain item in a store was "cheaper" on Main Street or at another store there in Disneyland! LOL! We used to laugh so hard about those people...

^Hey Mermaid,
I think that Pan for Gold is actually still there. They just moved it over by to other side of Ghost Town, near the Train Store. Just to make sure, I checked their website and it is still listed. I haven't been at Knott's for a few weeks, so that gave me a scare that they would get rid of something so "legendary" you know.

ACTUALLY... in the years past I used to get kinda upset cause this DID happen. I even tried to get a refund for the difference once. It seemed odd to me then, and I'm glad we have uniform pricing now... and certain areas that only sell certain items...

LegoDan, a guest could have been right :?: A DLR guest??? Not even! Memories + guests = 0, zip, nada. Never think this thought again. Could be dangerous :P

Oh that's so good to know! I get all panicky when that Cedar Fair or whoever they are starts changing stuff around! Last time I was there...which was about 3 years ago...I noticed they'd changed the hell outta that area right there in Ghost Town where the Pan for Gold HAD been...and I asked a KBF employee what happened and she told me that they got rid of it. So that's why I thought they had! But I know for sure that other certain things are gone from there...like Haunted Shack! So sad. :(
I also wish Disneyland had kept the Indian Village or at least upheld the native american heritage in Frontierland! I'm Cherokee and it seriously makes me sad to see that almost all "indian" culture is gone from Frontierland. They have a few fake pieces of indian merchandise, but that's it. And other people, especially native americans, have noticed that and asked me about it!

What, like back in the old days?? In the past 7 years I don't remember the prices EVER being different store to store. *shrug* but I could be wrong and I'll admit that. I'm just saying it's not happened to me in the past 7 years.
