Self Defense?
Re: Self Defense?
I have been at Disneyland in the summer. There was one day 2 families got into a big cat fight. One guy said something offensive and the other guy decked him in the face. The other guests went to report the fight to a near by cast member. Apparently a cast member can not get involved with fists are flying. Security usually is called along with Anaheim police. If I worked there, like how Zazu said, I would had ran the opposite direction and hide.
I heard that both parties were arrested and were kicked out of the park for everyone's safety.

Several CSI episodes have shown how deadly high (or spiked) heals can be.drcorey wrote:I can see it now, when princesses attack.

I suppose we could, but as one of my fellow CMs said one day, "Just how much fight do you think we're likely to take on for $8.35/hour?"turkeyham wrote:I have been at Disneyland in the summer. Or for even a bit more.... I was once told by a nursing supervisor that the family of a gang member recovering on our unlocked med-surg unit was complaining that we nurses were not protecting him enough, just anyone could walk in his room, and the other gang was planning an attack on him.Zazu wrote:I suppose we could, but as one of my fellow CMs said one day, "Just how much fight do you think we're likely to take on for $8.35/hour?"
My Stupid supervisor wanted us to monitor everyone walking in the room(While taking care of 6 other patients.)I got security involved. There was no way I was going to throw myself in front of a gang gunfight.

Stanford Hospital serves the San Fran mid peninsula area including East Palo Alto which held the Murder Capitol of the US title for two years running. AT first they put in metal check machines at the entrance to the ER but eventually had to move them out to cover all the entrances. Even the maternity ward wasn't safe. :mad:DisneyMom wrote:Or for even a bit more.... Yes, there is a hospital nearby that has metal detectors that everyone must pass through in order to enter. I'm actually a little surprised that Disney Parks haven't gone there yet, but with the zillions of pins on everyone's person, I imagine metal detectors would cause HUGE delayshobie16 wrote:Stanford Hospital serves the San Fran mid peninsula area including East Palo Alto which held the Murder Capitol of the US title for two years running. Yeah, that kind of suprises me also, you would think that a little more screening would be attempted.DisneyMom wrote:Yes, there is a hospital nearby that has metal detectors that everyone must pass through in order to enter. I just watched the video mentioned of the fight at the Monorail Station. I think the CM handled it very well. It's hard to "defend" yourself no win days without someone trying to sue you, especially in a customer service type job. Dealing with the public is always going to be the worst job in the world. People think they are the only ones that matter and everyone else can go to hell. As long as THEY are happy. Had their parents raised them properly and beat their ass as a kid growing up maybe they would a little more respect for others.
Help control A.D.D., Spank a kids ass.

LOL, well I'm glad you saw that video of those pieces of trailer trash screaming f*** across the station platform and understand what I am talking about.PapaMouse wrote:I just watched the video mentioned of the fight at the Monorail Station. As for upbringing I will admit I was a fast learner. It took one spanking with a wooden spoon and one dose of soap in the mouth to teach me. I had the fear of retribution ground into me and I think that is why I turned out as well as I have. I have friends who say "I'm not worried about what my mother would do, I worry about what your mom would do." Now saying that, my mother is one of the sweetest women you will ever meet, but she won't take any bulls***. It takes all kinds...
