You're actually a sista Bru.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

All I needed to know about Hawaiian lingo was learned by watching Dog the Bounty Hunter.

You'll be in real trouble if you ever come to Hawaii.ktulu wrote:All I needed to know about Hawaiian lingo was learned by watching Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Nah, I know better. I tried my limited Japanese while in Tokyo, got a reply in full on, "yay! This guy knows our language!" reply.hobie16 wrote:You'll be in real trouble if you ever come to Hawaii.
When I make it to Hiwaiee, I'll be in full on tourist mode, you know, to fit in...

I just want to know why y'all don't speak normal English. You know, like us Texans. ;)

I know what the following mean:hobie16 wrote:You'll be in real trouble if you ever come to Hawaii.
Lolo (with the long 'O' sound)
Pakalolo
Haole
And a few others.
I had a friend in high school who grew up in Hawaii..
Short confession, her nickname for me was "lolo". It was a long while before I figured out what that meant (she wouldn't tell me)..
Of course this was back in the day before internet was available to common folk.. :D:

At least you Texans are only working with two languages. We've got English, pidgin English, Hawaiian, Tagalog, Japanese, Samoan and tourist just to name a few.BRWombat wrote:I just want to know why y'all don't speak normal English. You know, like us Texans. ;)
