We didn't get a "dream" while we were down there, but I had already prepared my roommates that the odds were slim that we would get one and we were there to have fun and would have gone regardless of whatever promotion they're running to attract more SG's...er...guests.

We did, however, get the Tink pins our firs night down there! Our waitress at Coral Reef came up to the table and we were in a great mood (imagine that, we were in a good mood at WDW) so before she had a chance to say anything, she was greeted with a chorus from all three of us of "How are you doing tonight?" "It's good to see you!" "Are you having a Magical Night?" and (my personal favorite, I almost fell out of my chair laughing when Chris said it) "Welcome to our table!" Our waitress (Blanca) decided she liked us so much that, after telling us a few things about the restaurant, she disappeared and reappeared with a pair of Tink pins for each of us! You're supposed to keep one, and give one away, but we had six and we don't collect pins, so we kept only one for our group and gave the other five away. We waited to find cool people throughout our week to give them to, and that became a really fun side project for the entire week! It was more than I expected and quite nice really. It meant a lot to us because Blanca was being very genuine that our warm greeting really made her evening, so she wanted to make ours! [I do think my female roommate still wants to get the castle suite for a night, though...we always say she's a bit of a princess!] :p:

Haven't been in the parks during YOAMD -- yet :D: -- but we did send in postcards, 40 of them, 10 for each of my family spread out over a few weeks. Not long after, my wife received a box in the mail with a set of dream Mickey ears! So it does work... (though I must admit I would rather have won the membership in DVC!)

So should I get the address and send some in? I make the assumption that the address is somewhere on the web site.

Yeah, just go to Disney.com and hook up to Year of a Milion Dreams and it has the rules and address. The address changes on the 19th of this month, due to the fact they extended the year to Two years of a million dreams. The rules will show the new address to use as of the 19th of December.

Thanks, I'll look into it!! I will probably send in one or two, but like a lot of people here, I don't really need anything special, cause I have all the wonderful people on the SGT board! (WOW this RUM is REALLY powerful!!!)hehehehehe

You are allowed to send in one card, per person, per household, per day. Ralph and I each send one card in everyday. We buy those pre postage postcards the Post Office sells. They work the best. We will see if we get anything.
Funny thing happened..I emailed Jim MacPhee, VP of EPCOT about a few things, and lo and behold he actually called me!!!!!!! Blew my mind. I told him Jokingly, I told him I had not received anything yet from all my postcards or trips to the Parks from the Dream Squad and could he just slide me a stay at Cindy's castle. He chuckled. So did I. It was funny. Still waitng on that nite in Cindy's castle. hehehehe. :hysteria:

I have a feeling you will have a long wait!!

Along the lines of sending in cards, do you think we could send in cards for the Grandkids? We got them each a share of WDW stock for christmas (plus other toys and stuff) and if they got something they would probably go crazy!!

I bought 100 postcards somewhere around the beginning of the year. Made it an activity for the kids to decorate them. We did win one lanyard pin set & one set of Mouse ears. You'd have thought we won the lottery!
I have heard tales of the dream squad being stalked. I know I had an awesome chat w/a dream squad member in Epcot (Jake) on 2 seperate days. He was so cool that I wrote to WDW to tell them what a gem he is.

I hadn't thought about the situation where at a ride, a specific clutch of guests win something, do the guests behind squack & grumble? Probably, some people don't know how to appreciate that they have the means to even go to WDW.

Here's hoping the 2nd yr of YOAMD goes smoothly for all you awesome CMs! My fam is going again in June, just being able to go makes my dreams come true.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I see far too many people at Disneyland who apparently fail to grasp the concept that it's not one pin to keep, one pin to trade. I also see far too many Cast Members give those pins away semi-randomly, and not just because the Guest isn't being an SG, which is what the pins are meant for. I tend to give them out to kids who actually put the toys they were playing with but not buying back on the shelves, or if they were being good kids and listening to their parents. I also give them out to Guests who are nice to me when I screw up and an SG would've yelled at me for whatever happened.

I will confess to be disappointed that in nearly a week at DL we never even saw someone else getting a Dream. I'd have settled for *seeing* the coolness happen to someone else. Sad. :(
