What if, to increase traction on sloped pathways, the slope was covered by a series of close spaced metal pipes across the path (with a slight gap between them) with the pipes inset into the walk so the surface remains at a constant slope. Like a cattle guard gate as is used in western pasture land. Anything with large wheels like an ECV or WC would handle it easily, but heelies would slip into the gap. Possibly even snapping the wheels off the shoes if they get twisted sideways.

We can dream can't we?

I do that from time to time. And since there is a perfectly logical reason to install these pipes for increased traction and (especially outdoors) keeping water from causing a slippery situation, and no mention of heelies at all, it works. Gee you mean the safety equipment we installed causes problems for something that is not supposed to be used in the parks anyway? How upsetting.

Well my personal favorite is after I give a dejected "Please don't skate!" the kid's dad comes up to me and is like, "Don't tell my son what to do! Who do you think you are?"
At that point I really wanted to look at my nametag and say "Judging by this my name is D_____ , and I am from Plano, TX. Who are you?"

Another way to go is "I'm the person who has to clean up the blood when his skates catch a crack and he does a face plant on the floor". Or maybe " I just thought your plastic surgeon would prefer to work on him WITHOUT his face all swollen?
OOoo how about this one. I'm sorry, I didn't know you already had his new nose picked out. By all means go right ahead and let me know when I should clean his face off the floor after he has completed the face plant.
Or how about "You're his father?" (hand him a business card for a local plastic surgeon and the number of the nearest emergency room) "People who skate around here tend to need one or both of these frequently."
Or just smile and say "I've done everything that needs to be done to protect us from injury suits. If he hurts himself from here on out, it's on your dime. Have a nice day."

Shoulda made a comment about if he really wanted to keep his kid from getting hurt, he should've gotten a vasectomy about a year before the kid was born, and how hindsight is always 20/20. :D:

I hereby introduce a motion that any SG seen skating on heelies should either have the wheels confiscated immediately or must remove them. Failure to do so will result in being forced to watch MILF, SGE, or the HISTA Kodak Commercial.
All in favor?
