Okay. In due time...A lot of the stuff is in boxes now because of the house being up for sale, but I can snap a few of what I still have out on display. Ralph's office has turned into my snowglobe collection room and they are not all in there, some are elsewhere in the house or in boxes. I have most of my collectible Princess Porcelain dolls in storage. Too risky to keep them out. I have my *office* downstairs that has my giant 4 foot tall Mickey sitting in the chair and the walls have my framed pin sets and posters, some of them anyway. I have enough stuff to do a Beauty and the Beast room, once we actually get moved. Most of that stuff is stored. Most all the little stuff that could be handled or grabbed is put away. Kids love to touch Disney stuff and I just cannot risk damage from lollipop sticky hands from strangers who are just looking at the house. I have to be very careful about what I leave up on low shelves and tables. Sad really, cause I want my Disney house to be completed. Once we move into our new home wherever that may be (near WDW) hopefully, then I will put together the Magical Disney house for all to see and marvel at!
I do have my Disney Christmas tree that we got last year at Disneyland Hotel. You can order Christmas amenities through Vacation Planning and have a tree or stockings in the room when you get there. We had a tree and it is so cute. That is where Ralph got the official Gingerbread recipe, because the tree was Disney gingerbreadman themed. I may dig around in the store room to get that out before we leave so we can have it up. Since we are going to DL at Christmas, we don't decorate much here. It is becoming our tradition to spend Christmas at DL, until we move to WDW, then we shall have to attend MVMCP!!!!!
Everyone should post a picture of their Christmas tree on this thread! That would be fun to see!!!!!! And pics of the house decorations inside and out! I would love to see how you are all decorating! :D:

one of my friends has an upsidedown tree evey year. The nurseries here sell them and you hang em from the ceiling. They are interesting, because the ornaments don't get hidden in the boughs, they dangle where you can see them due to the inversion of the tree. Very cool! She does her Animal themed tree that way, she is a friend from Tech school. Then she does a regular old fashioned right side up tree in the family room! :)

Because we're pushing financially to get into our new place, Liz and I probably aren't going to have a Christmas tree. We *will* make up for it next year. All are invited to come see what we do Christmas 2008. I do plan to consult with Randy for some special effects. Flash pots are not off limits (although the cats will not be allowed in the room at that time).
Susi, your comments in selling your house remind me of meeting some people who said that the new thing in selling a house was to not have anything visible that you didn't mind selling with the house, because they might give you a good price on the house... if it comes with that heirloom artwork on the wall. Heck, they'll even fight you for it, or put it in the fine print of some contract so you don't realize it until you've signed if they can get away with it. In home sales, I guess people are getting downright ruthless.

I was thinking about doing one outside, but I will have to find a cheap, junky tree since I dont want to ruin my good trees. (yes I said trees, we own 5)
NOW comes the problem of figuring out how hang the darn thing upside down outside. OOOO >>>WAIT...I could string a rope between the light pole and my tree...that would work. I just want tacky to annoy the neighbor. And that is the perfect spot that where she walks out her door and cant help but see it. HEHEHEHEHE! ANd I can put the evil looking santa on the tree for extra tackyness. I cant afford my flamingos with santa hats this year. AHHHH...always next year. LOL I really need to keep an eye out at yard sales next summer for really ugly stuff. LOL

Yeah, they do that! Ralph reads EVERY word on a contract, so believe me, no one is getting anything in this house unless we say it comes with the house. We are very keen on what can happen. Ralph has sold a few homes before and we were landlords at one time in California, so real estate dealings are second nature to him. No one gets my Disney memorabilia! If they try, the swords come out! The worst is the thieves who WILL pocket your jewelry and little knickknacks if they can. We are NOT having an open house so we will not have a lot of unsupervised people in at one time. Showings are by appt only and only one family per showing. Period. I don't have any really good jewelry, except my wedding set and a set of earrings, but we take the valuables and the financial records with us in the car when we leave for the showings. That is why I hide the Disney stuff in places people would really have to dig to find them and they would be conspicuous if they tried. It is sad that it has come to this, but you have to protect yourself when it comes to showing and selling a home. In our case, people have to be vetted to see it. Because it is a luxury home, we have to make sure ONLY those who are serious and have the means to buy it, get in. I do not want lookyloos coming in to see *how the rich people live*

Whatever. It is what they think, even though we are just people in a bigger house with more stuff...
My wish is that we could get out and move to Florida and rent a place for a while there, and just keep in the house the *generically elegant* vases and figurines that make it look like a staged home. And it would be made crystal clear that NOTHING comes with the house, (unless I decide to leave some of the furniture and the*generically elegant* crap), I am hoping we can do this, because then I can remove all of my valuables and I won't worry so much about people going in and out. It is better to show the house unlived in anyway. We just did not want to have to rent a place here nearby and spend the extra dough to pay for two houses, if we don't have to. BUT, if we move to Florida and sell the place empty, that is different. We will be starting our future, by being in Florida and being able to find a builder and a place to put our new house. We are looking at a couple of developments like Reunion, Celebration, of course, and a few others. We have a home designer already, with a model I love and we just need to figure out where to put it and wait til this house sells in order to buy it!

LOL....I will take pics when I am done. Unfortunately I dont have a video camera to set up for shocked expressions. LOL I need to set all this stuff up late at nite so she doesnt see me doing it.
Seriously...She is so damn nosy. I love my courtyard the way it is set up but I hate having to keep my curtains facing her house closed. She sits on her porch for like an hour and just stares

cant wait till tax time to get some of that lattice work stuff to put up. If you saw my Halloween pics you can see that someone at some point decided to start enclosing the porch by putting up framing then stopped. ??????? I can't put up blinds because of the way it done I would have to climb a ladder on the outside of the porch each time I wanted to close or open them and it would still look ugly from the outside. I figured the lattice stuff would give some privacy and still make the place look decent. I could alway put blinds on the inside then. I could even weave some of those fake flower strings for more privacy.
Strange ppl. The guy is nice but he wanted to know if I was planning on enclosing the porch...UUMMM...NO! One, it is not my house(we rent so anything I put up ..ie.payfor ...will come down when we move) And 2 ..eew. how ugly would that be 3...I would get even less sunlite in my living room then I do now. I think since they bought their house they want everything else to look perfect.
Donnie gets off early today so I think I may have him take me out shopping for ugly decs. LOL There are 3 thrift stores around here to look at. I need to find BIG stuff tho. I need to start checking the curb on trash nite. LOL The bigger and uglier the better. HEHEHE!

Flamingos with Santa hats...Yeah! I like it! :D: I get these weird catalogs all the time that have all those kinds of crazy tacky things. I love kitsch and tacky. It is so fun! For a while we had a running joke in the family: I bought a dancing gopher that danced to "I'm Allright" from the Caddyshack movie. I sent it to my brother for Christmas. I got it back with a birthday hat and birthday party favors. I then sent it back to him with easter bunny ears and plastic eggs. It was funny to keep that thing going back and forth each holiday. I got it at Spencer's Gifts. I love Spencer's Gifts store. They have all that stuff too.
Ralph just ordered our tree for the room at The Disneyland Hotel. He ordered a Chocolate basket as well, of course. He is a chocoholic. And he ordered a Mickey Mouse Stocking for me. That is our Christmas decor, a tree in the hotel room and a Disney Christmas sock that I can hang up on one of the door knobs. We will be in the Parks most of the time anyway. I am hoping for warm weather, at least warm enough for the heated pool. I want to swim on Christmas Day. :D: Even if it down to 60 degrees, it will be warm enough with a heated pool. I will have Ralph get a picture of me in the pool on Christmas Day!
We still have snow on the ground here and it is cold, in the 20's. They say we may get some more snow later on this evening. It sure is pretty. I will miss the light sbowfalls and how quiet it is when it snows when we move away from Denver. But I won't miss shovelling. I don't shovwel so much myself anymore, but Ralph is out there the whole time clearing off the driveway!
I am looking so forward to the Disneyland *snow* The pictures I have seen of the Castle all lit up look phenomenal. They did a blue icy look on the castles this year. Pretty! Cannot wait to see all the decor too. We got resses for the Holiday time tour for late afternoon so we get seats for the late parade when it is all lit up. We did it during the day last year, so I am looking forward to the lights in the parade and on Small World. With the tour you get prime front row seating in chairs at the beginning of the parade at Small World. It is going to be overwhelming with Christmas lights. And how I love shiny Christmas lights. I will be crying the whole time. Can't wait to see the parade all lit up and then later we stand down somewhere on Main Street in front of the castle with the fireworks going off overhead and that beautiful Christmas music score. It always makes me tear up when I am there. I cry when we have to come home too. *sniff* Those are going to be our Christmas decorations this year.
We have not told the parents yet that we are not going to be coming there for the holidays. I can hear it now....Too bad, we always go to see them in February and split the time with everyone, otherwise they fight over who gets us for Christmas and we decided the best thing to do from now on is to take Christmas for ourselves at DL and then spend more time with the family after the holiday rush when we can relax and not have to deal with all the fuss of a holiday. It works out really well that way. We did it last yr and his folks were NOT happy. My parents get it, but we are going to have some to do with his mom, I know. Oh well, can't make everyone happy...
My Christmas tree will be the big one right there in Town Square when you into the Park! :D:

If I might encourage you in a direction: go with Celebration if you can! After seeing it up close, I'm a big fan! I don't know anything about their home owner's association rules or statutes or any of the details you'd need to know before buying a home there, but it is just an amazingly nice area. Especially when I got to see something that is usually a good indicator of the lowest class of people in an area: the Emergency Room! It's a very nice hospital and we spoke to people there who had great things to say about their school as well as roads and all the rest of the questions I could think to ask at that time of the morning (between about 1:30 and 5 or so...) The one thing I'd think to add that was weird for me, but probably not such a big deal to a lot of people: the hospital is apparently highly religious. There was a painting on one wall that really made me feel icky of a doctor sitting at a desk, apparently studying something and thinking hard about it, and Jesus is looking over his shoulder apparently getting ready to guide his hand. I'm cool with that stuff, just so long as it doesn't extend to weird un-called for morality stuff like not giving birth control prescriptions to people and stuff like that (I didn't ask because I didn't want to offend anybody or get kicked out while my friend was being treated, but I would ask if I was moving down there...that's the only reason I mention it. I'm really not looking for a morality argument here partially because I believe I'm the only, or one of very few, Jews in attendance on this board, and Jews know we generally don't do well against gangs of people with differing opinions from ours. :p :)
The other thing I'd mention to you about Celebration is that we (the board collectively...sadly not me personally due to the aforementioned ER visit and the time constraints placed on our trip subsequently) do know somebody who lives in Celebration! Zazu! Our favorite feathered Moderator I'm sure would be happy to share some of his knowledge about one of my new favorite places in the world... :)
(Sorry to volunteer you Zazu, but it seems to me that you like your home and would have very little problem with nice people like Susi being your neighbors!)

:zazu:
OOH! There's a fun new smilie next to the "bow" smilie now! (Or at least, it's new to me as I haven't noticed it before!) It's called "beg"! And it looks like this:

I'll have to remember that one for when I'm asking Susi if I can stay at her beautiful new home during my next WDW visit! :p: Edited to add: my roommates say "we won't steal anything or touch anything with our lollypop-sticky hands!" ;)
