Heh. I'd be more than happy to do the research and give a fully informed opinion... I'm just too lazy to do it for free. :)

Segways are neat, I give you that... but they are certainly not a disabled device.
Now, if they would make a four-wheeled stand-up vehicle, I would be all for allowing that in the parks. I would love it if they made a wheel chair that allowed the user to look like they were standing and be at eye level with walking people. That's how Segway created their current product... to climb the stairs as previously mentioned, their wheel chair does go up on two wheels. I would love to see them expand on the idea they had and create something that is bewteen the wheel chair and the HT.

I saw someone at WDW using one of these. I was surprised when I turned and there was a guy in a wheel chair at eye level. My wife and I thought it was cool, I was going to ask if I could ride it in, but I think he might have declined...

It's a mobility device you might expect James Bond to be using.
Actually, the iBot was first designed by Segway. I don't know if iBot is a separate company or a subsidiary. Haven't done any research, either.

Okay, now I want one of those. If my back is gonna fail me and I have to rent one of those DL wheelchairs, that ain't gonna work for me...This new device on the other hand, yes indeed! I could definitely get around the parks that way and not have to sniff butts all day long, being at that level while sitting in a wheelchair. ewwwwwww.....

Can you imagine if you were in a chair and the path through Adventurewland at DL was literally packed and not moving and the guy in front of you let one rip...OMG!
I am hoping that my back will make it through the Christmas trip without having to rent a chair. We will just take it slowly and rest alot, go back to the hotel for naps and the pool for a swim and sit in the hot tub there. I am going to try to schedule a massage over at the Grand Californian for my back about midway through the trip and then maybe one on the night before we leave to come home. That should help loosen all the muscles and help the nerves in my back to calm down. I will NOT be able to walk all day, every day for 7 days straight without some help.
