Yeah, I got these maps, they are beautiful, actually they would look great framed. You can get them every 6 months. I have two sets of them. They're very nice. I think eBay should crack down on these losers who are selling things that people can get for free from the Park, as well as the fastpasses, entry tickets and GAC passes. It is illegal to sell some of these things on eBay and I know Disney has a team trying to stop these sales, but there are just so many of them.

I once won a viewmaster set in a canister from a seller for 5.00. I had already gotten another different viewmaster in a canister, (I collect old viewmasters and reels), so I knew how big the item was. The seller had put a 50.00 shipping fee  on the item, which I really thought was an error. I emailed them and asked what the shipping really was and they said 50.00! I went to the Post Office and found out that no matter how big or heavy a pkg is, there is a flat rate of something like 20.00 for an item like that. I wrote them back and told them I had checked with the P.O. and gave them the info that the postmaster had given me. I played it dumb and said that whoever at their P.O. had told them the shipping was that much, was incorrect and that I was not going to pay 50.00 for shipping. They allowed me to cancel, because they knew if they tried to make me pay that much I would report them to eBay and they did not want that. These jags try all the time to make up the difference in a shipping cost what they don't make on the bids. They could have gotten in huge trouble for inflating shipping costs on eBay. That is big no-no there. You can be kicked off from selling if you overcharge on shipping costs. They knew I knew what was up. They backed down. Now I check shipping costs carefully and if it is an outrageous amount, I write and ask why it is so much. Usually I don't get an answer or I get some BS about it. I don't bid if they won't back down. And I will report outrageously high shipping costs. I don't sell yet, but I buy a lot of Disney pins through eBay. I have found some of the best hard to find and rare pins there and I now limit my sellers to people I know and have become friends with. We are all pin collectors and I know I can trust them for a fair deal. eBay can be fun, you just have to be careful...

LOL...I actually know someone who would buy the beat up license plate. They have a shed covered in them. Hey I live in Podunkville what do you expect? LOL

I like looking over the maps ahead of time so I can figure out what I want to see and where it is but there is no way I will pay for one. Oh, guest services will NOT send you one no matter how much you beg. (thank goodness for friends on the net)

Hey Susi, you would love some of the old reels I have of DL park. Got a bunch at a yard sale a few years ago along with a Mickey viewer and one of the weird tan colored ones from the 70's for 50 cents. WHOO HOO! Meghyn has a viewmaster but there is no way I will let a 4 year old play with my Mickey Mouse one or the old reels. LOL I even have a viewmaster that plugs in and shows the pics on the wall. I picked it up for like a buck at Goodwill. It works ok, but I need to get inside to fix the focus on it.. yeah I will add that to my list of a million things that also need done.
Do you know how to fix the films that have come out of the reel by any chance? I have a few that are loose cause they are so old.

People will buy anything on eBay and have no idea of value.

A couple of years ago three newbies were bidding up on a CM one-year Steamboat Mickey pin, of which there are probably well over 100,000 out. These tend to sell generally in the $20 price range, but this one went for over $200.

And as far as selling free items, why not. During the WDW 25th there were lithos on 8½x5½ card stock of characters with the 25th logo on the back, a description of the character and a "signature". They were free but available only at certain locations and generally you had to ask for them.

Judy had put a Figment one up and it went for $15, which we thought was a reasonable price. We had about two dozen. A few months later she put up another and it went for $52. We were sure that when it was received we would get a complaint about not as expected and decided we would refund $35 of the payment if any complaint; however the feedback was glowing and Judy got an e-mail from the buyer about how it fit very well into a collection.

I know guys who make a living off of ebay, they buy stuff from companies that clean out warehouses and sell the stuff cheap. They list the stuff on ebay for cheap and make more profit (usually) on shipping.

Selling the lithos doesn't sound so bad, I guess I was talking more about the maps and fastpasses... Disney stuff is hard to come by if you were not at a specific event or got the gift with purchase deal, so those items can be worth somethiong to someone who is trying to complete a set or likes a particular character. And if you set a certain starting price on an item, anyone is free to bid what they can afford, so there should be no complaints about paying the price they bid, right? I know some people still do, but then why did they bid that amount and now not want to pay it. It states clearly Do NOT bid more than you can afford. I just paid 160.00 for a pin this morning. It is very rare and there over 400 people that want it on pinpics and I believe less than 12 who have it! A rare POTC pin from the 1980's. Ralphie loves POTC pins. I bid what I could afford for that pin and won it by a hair....

I just tried to edit my post and for some reason I couldn't. It wouldn't take my edit before the time limit!
ANYWAY...I checked the pinpics for the POTC pin and the ratio was 220 people wanting the pin and 4 people having the pin. However, there are 3 more pins in the series and now I gotta try to find those. LOLOLOL! Not really. If I like just the one, I won't bother with the others.

As for my viewmaster collection, I have the Mickey one and a cool collection of all different eras and styles and types of the Bakelite viewmasters. We have the one that plays the talking reels and a projector one as well. I have hundreds and hundreds of reels...I need to organize them all in files...
I really like my Disney pins though, I have a huge collection of all types, well over a thousand pins at this point. And they just keep making more.... :D:
