Thanks very much for your responses! I've only had one negative interaction with a CM, someone working at a store, but the rest were just terrific. It's usually the other guests that are a problem, I've had someone push my son aside, lots of eye rolling when he's talking, someone even told their son to stand in front of mine because "he won't notice". I noticed and the kid stood elsewhere. I generally don't let this bother me too much (we'd never leave home otherwise) but it still surprises me that atleast in DW people can't have a little more compassion.
Big Wallaby, I hope we get you for a bus driver!! Thanks again, Christine

One thing I have learned at this site is that behavior starts in infancy and is patterned and molded outside the parks. The SG who makes fun of another guest will do the same thing at WDW, SeaWorld, the zoo, church, stores, malls, work, and at home. I have known waitresses who tell me the same horror stories that CMs endure at WDW. These people need educating if at all possible and maybe if they knew what they was doing was wrong then they would stop.

Before going read the boards for tips on dealing with special children. If you do not want to mention the disability then you can put the info on a card and hand it to a CM.

(OT) My all-time favorite quote from any of the Police Squad/Naked Gun series comes from a TV episode. This is from memory, so it's probably not exact, but in the scene Lt. Drebin and Ed go to the home of a woman whose husband has just been shot and killed. Ed apologizes for needing to ask her questions at a time like this, and Drebin lets loose with this classic:

"Yes. We would have been here sooner, but your husband wasn't dead then."

 :D:

Not what I was asking for, but I still bow to the greatest Secretary Bird in the world!

Actually, I want to see Notatourist drive the one at UO... and that's not the University of Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio or Oahu.
