If you're off the clock, you can use it to come in. Blue pass only has a limit of how many can come with you and how many times.

The Blue pass is also useful if you go to another off-site park, say, from WDW to DL or DLP. From what I understand, that does not count against your annual 12.

I more meant... if you come by yourself, does that count against your annual 12/16/whichever? I'm assuming not, but I could be stupid. :)

Yes Cinema, other than CTs, all CMs can play in the parks anytime they are off the clock. No costumes are allowed when we are playing. CMs at DCA can play with their blues & khaki colored pants on. CMs at DL (mostly Main Street Stock) are able to play in their blues. CMs who wear blacks, drab greens, brown, khaki pants are allowed to play in the parks - but no CM can wear their Disney costume tops. We always take a complete change of clothes so we can play. CMs also are not to buy On Stage when in costume. Some leads or managers will allow buying On Stage if the CM is not closing, & there is a cash wrap which is open but rather out of the main guest flow. After closing CMs can buy with no problem.

Cool, thanks for the info. I imagine there are some days you'd rather just get the heck out of there than stick around and play... but I think it would be fun. I would get a kick out of talking with regular guests and not mentioning that I am a CM. But then again, I get a kick out of people watching.

My dear CM friend more than once had to put on a sweater or coat over her costume top so that she could go into the park. They were very strict about wanting off duty employees not looking like working employees. She stayed in the park so she could be with other CMs and friends, pin trade and use the park like regular guests.

She worked in Main Street and Tomorrowland but it was one shop or area that she was in. CMs usually are in one tiny area of the park such as a ride, kitchen, theatre, shop, or stockroom for example. They do not get to see the parades, fireworks, and the rest of the park unless they do it after work.

I'm kindof wondering what the attitude of hourly CMs towards salaried/professional CMs is. I know some of them are disliked, but that seems to be more on an individual basis. I guess my question is: is there a certain grudge or view towards the salaried ones because they don't have to deal with SGs as much?

I don't know what it is called, but on peak days DH has to go into AK and work w/ guests. We've only been here for 6 weeks, so he hasn't had to do it yet, but I feel very sorry for all the CMs around him when he does (he is NOT a people person and I doubt will last very long around SGs). All the hourly CMs we have met and introduced ourselves to are very nice, so I hope they do not hold a grudge!

We have Silver Passes, and DH and I will sometimes go straight from his office into the parks, or he'll go to AK for lunch. Since his is non-costumed, he doesn't have to change, but must remove any kind of employee id. He cannot even pump gas on property with his name tag on.

And BTW, I meant to ask this last week, but I thought that costumed CMs were not supposed to wear their costumes (full costumes) off property. Twice I saw this girl at a Publix in Kissimmee with her full Dinosaur/Dino Institute costume on, name tag and everything. Even if there is not a rule, it sure looked tacky.

Well, if I recall correctly, you are allowed to ware the costume outside in the public only if you are doing small personal things, but you are supposed to remove the name tags. But this is the CA rules. I don't think the Florida ones would be much different.

DLR has a Cross UT program on high count days. Might this be what you refer to? CMs are not to wear entire costume out, but stopping for a quick errand - without name tag is ok. DLR relaxed rules in abt 2002 or so. I'm not going to change when it's 3 a.m. & I'm at Katella Arco. My name tag stays on too while getting gas. I even run into Von's or Ralph's with my costume if it's after 11 p.m. or so. I'm off work, tired, in a hurry & refuse to change. Name tag is off, this is a far as I'll go.

We are allowed to wear our costumes going to or going from work but are susposed to take our nametags off. It's called cast zooming here.

A lot of times the nametag does not always come off especially at 4am when I'm at the Hess station for gas and coffee.

Seriously, couldn't blame you guys... at 4 AM, I'd want to know who was a CM just to say thanks.
