if guests were smart enough to read the signs or listen to the safety spiel would there be a need for any employee? Guest stupidity is what gives us a job from day to day. Although it would be nice if they actually listened to the safety spiel.
like for instance on Soarin' Over California
Patrick gives his little speech on the "If your too short to meet this height mark put the seat belt here"
but people seem to hear only the last part and they complain to me that it's squishing their "gonads" and sometimes I release the seat belt other times I say it will be fine, if it were grad nite and they complained about that I would say that they failed the exit exam and are going back to 1st grade tomorrow. :twisted:

That's why I inject humor into mine, If I hear chuckles/laughter, I know that someone listened. Now I can get away with it on the bus, I know that those in attractions have less leeway.
With MIM's, the canned safety spiel, well lets just say it's a canned safety spiel.
When it's done, I pick up the mic and then do my standard comedy act and respiel the safety. I can now add to it with things like "what Mr Announcer did not say is ......."
