Re: Stupid passhole tricks
Now, now, everyone here knows that CMs are not immune from the stupid . . .in fact, I seem to recall several posts about said stupid CMs RIGHT HERE. So, if you can dish it out, you should be able to take it. Sometimes what happens is you have one or two bad experiences with CMs, and then you notice other, smaller ones more. I've had some REALLY stupid CMs over the years - but am happy to say that they are a distinct minority. I figure they are someone's brother-in-law, and that's how they got hired!
Having said that, let me say that some of the things the poster complained about are relatively minor - c'mon! A CM looked for a pin you couldn't find??OH THE HORROR!

Ooh! Ooh! I know!
"CMs are so stupid that they bust their asses all day long to not just do a job but to provide an incredible and magical experience for self-important slobs who then turn around and laugh at them behind their backs!"
Good Lord! Some people are not nice enough to go to Disneyland.

Re: Stupid passhole tricks
Basically CMs are working at a job. Jobs have equipment failures, idiots who stock inferior products, management who mistreats employees, bad working conditions, and so much more manure. It would be nice if at the local restaurant the guests all refilled the sugar, salt and pepper. It would be nice if all guests at a restaurant were neat, clean and did not make a lot of work for staff.
The park is at times hit with large amounts of patrons who all want food immediately. When you see the dirty tables did you think maybe one of the workers is in the back room resting or maybe it could be they were sick or nursing an injury from the job. Do you know why the tables were dirty? Was it the end of the day and they were leaving that while they did other more important things?
We do know there are problems in the parks which is cause by upper management like rotting wood on the Tiki Room, rusting staircase supports, paint peeling, etc. What we do not know is why at any time an employee is not doing their job perfectly. If we are so upset by what we see then go to corporate offices and complain. I once got a high ranking person in Disneyland and told him that the door to the lady's restroom on main street was in bad disrepair. I then told him about how that is the first thing people see is a poorly maintained door. Nail management, write the parks, do something but posting on a site really gets you nowhere and does not help straighten out the problem.
My experiences with CMs and employees in general is that they are humans who provide poor service due to improper training, exhaustion, guests, overworked, or the idocracy of management. CMs are the main and best thing about my times in the parks and I miss them.

But several of the sites are monitored by Disney; probably this one also.mechurchlady wrote:but posting on a site really gets you nowhere and does not help straighten out the problem.
A few months ago one of the moderators on another board got a message from someone high up at DCL asking that direct telephone numbers to named people not be posted, and gave references to specific current posts. The message said that most problems could be resolved through the general numbers, and if a person was given a direct number that was normally for a specific reason.
This message was posted to a moderators-only forum.

Re: Stupid passhole tricks
Disney is everywhere and I know that at a VMK board the accounts of two members of VMK staff but I think the women changed as she was on my friends list. The site thought it was cool to show everyone's friend list.
Still it is better to contact the park so they know right away. A detailed report will help management know the specifics instead of a vague no line gripe. I knew a pin trader whose mother was in security and he told everyone about them. They are everywhere.

Re: Stupid passhole tricks
You know, I noticed the amount of ONLINE complaining from the disney boards has increased dramatically since the news piece on how Disney reads the boards. These people are no longer going through the appropriate channels to send an opinion or comment to Disney, they are just assuming that their little rant will be read by a corporate spy and sent to Iger for immediate review. Lazyness sets in...
Don't tell me how to run my attraction or how to have a good day. as stated before, there are often many circumstances that would cause a CM to "not do their job". How do you even know that they are NOT doing their job? Ever think that the CM might not be trained for that particular task?

Re: Stupid passhole tricks
I have had jobs both paid and volunteer and other life experiences. So here is my answer to some of the complaints and please tell me if I am wrong.

#5 There was a HUGE liquid spill in a store. The poster wanted the CMs to clean up the spill right now. What kind of spill was it? Are the CMs who stock shelves and run registered properly equipped with gloves and proper cleaning supplies to clean up the spill? Was the spill dangerous such as human waste? Maybe the poster wanted on of the CMs in the store to dive on top of the spill thus protecting the thousands of children in the store.
#4 It is natural instinct to look to see if an item is in stock. It is standard procedure for a clerk to verify that the item is not in stock. It is well known that most if not all Annual Pass pins are sold in the main pin trading shop. What is the big deal if the manager is in another land or is it a problem that only and expert in Frontierland can deal with.
#2 I believe part of this is because they need to keep a pathway open in case of an emergency.
#3 Oh my goodness and here I have been clearing dirty tables at some of the restaurants. Good golly gee whiz I never knew that I was supposed to stand there turned red and angry because there are no clean tables. I know people at a local restaurant and sometimes they are short handed. One time I had to host and serve guests because a waitress was scalded by hot soup. Other times the dishwasher/bus boy is overwhelmed in the back area with dishes so the waitress had to do bussing, hosting and waitressing.
Those are my answers and I hope those of you who remember me in parks will remember the good things about me. I hope I was not a passhole but in hind sight probably was the worst passhole ever. Forgive me.

Re: Stupid passhole tricks
I wonder how fast i will be banned from that site when i say something like
"If you love your kid then follow the hight rules, They are there for a reason. Do you want your kid to fly out of the ride and hit his head on a piece of metal and die or be perminatly brain damaged for the rest of his life, and you will have to live with the fact that YOU CAUSED THAT BRAIN DAMAGE/DEATH. So if you love your kids then follow the hight rules."
I bet ya i will be Flamed, banned, and that post will be deleted, and it wont be a screen name banning, it will be an IP Address banning.

Even though I'm not a higher up,I doubt you'll get flamed, banned or deleted from this board. Now if you want to express your 'true' opinion go to .....Panther007 wrote:I wonder how fast i will be banned from that site when i say something like
