Hubby and I are both smokers, and have pretty much mapped out each smoking section in WDW. Even when I'm in the smoking section (affectionately known as the 'Leper Colony'), though, I can't help but feel like I'm on display (although not quite as bad as in Atlanta/Hartsfield International Airport). I've even felt self-conscious when I see someone on the bench next to me and (almost) apologize if the smoke bothers them - only to remember they're smoking too! :D:
Also, is it me? Or are there more smoking rooms on WDW property now? We were at the WLV last week, and there were rooms that obviously had the "No Smoking" signs taken off of room doors - there was still adhesive on some of the doors?
Oh, btw, Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk was still a smoking bar last time I went there - we could take over! ;)

Driver Dylan: At least you are considerate of others when you smoke. Look at all of those guests in the park who do not smoke in the appropiate areas and become upset when you remind them of where the closest area is. Also just as replusive are those smokers who drop their cigarette butts on the walkways in the parks. Even this CM has limits as to what kind of trash he will pick up with his hands. Oh, one other thing............ I am a "former" smoker of pipes, cigars and an occastional cigarette. We are the the worst critics of smokers, especially those who don't have proper manners (present company, you, excluded)
Oh, the occasional craving for a good cigar......................

I've been laughing about this all day since I read your post this morning. Oh to be a fly on the wall.
I used to chew tobacco (it was a prerequisite for military life) and my family, all of whom are obese, used to chide me for it at every opportunity. I never was so bold as to point out the irony of their health lectures, but the thought crossed my mind many times.
Now I'm addicted to Nicorette gum and I get frequent inquiries as to when I plan on giving that up. Guess I can't win :D:

As far as I'm concerned, you were there as a guest, and smoking in a designated smoking section.
End of argument.
I'm afraid I would have been a bit more proactive in that situation. At the first sound of fakey-coughing, I would have turned to the woman and said, "Hey, with a cough like that, you'd better not take up smoking," and would have followed-up any reply with "This is a designated smoking area. If you have a problem, here's a tip: why don't you sit away from the smoking section?"

Just out of curiosity, how do these people/non smokers, put up with rush hour traffic? Hell,I was stuck in gridlock last week, and I was more worryed about getting rear ended by some j-hole on their cell-phone than carbon-monoxide fumes.

Actually, I think it's the opposite. Aren't all WDW hotel rooms non-smoking now? I remember hearing something about that a few months back but don't know the date it was supposed to happen.

I'm not sure you can be agnostic AND a redneck.
