What, doesn't Disney have any real attorneys that can tell a judge that had the guest not been such an idiot and had obeyed park rules, the accident, injury and loss of life would never have occurred?
It's actually my understanding that when someone sues Disney, they'll offer a settlement even if the guest is clearly at fault to just get it out of the public eye quickly. If however, the stupid guest turns the offer down then the lawyers completely make them look stupid even if it may have been Disney's fault.

I tried to find the lady after the parade was over but my attempts failed. She must have snuck out knowing that she almost made princess pancakes. I can see the headlines now.

"Lady runs in front of float, princesses spalttered all over Liberty Square"

If I would have caught her, I would have knocked her silly. I mean she endangered her life, my life, and the performers lives as well.
I'm not sure if you are male or female, but..... YOU DA MAN! I'd have probably hit her if she'd have run out that close to my minivan. :bikehit:

The parade handlers did look for her. I'm just not sure that they got a good look at her to begin with. If my look at her was accurrate, then she didn't actually take right off. She stood there and watched the end of the parade. I wasn't 100% sure it was the same lady though (youngish little asian woman in a purple tank top?) , so I didn't say anything.
I hope that if they would have caught her that that would have been an ejectable offense. (of course, if she were ejected, she probably would have gone and complained to someone and gotten a comped dinner out of it.) :eat:

Now I know Disney gets a bit too lax with some standards, but I'm pretty sure that if you're booted from the park, they have enough sense not to comp you anything.

If you're disruptive enough to get kicked out of the park, they're certainly not going to want your repeat business.

With Disney, it's exactly the opposite.

They will sometimes even spend more money defending a suit than they would have spent settling it. I gotta admit I respect them for that. It certainly deters people from filing frivolous suits in the future, so in the end they probably do save money.

But they do settle on occasion, when they know that they have nothing to gain by fighting it.

I'm sure that you are right, John. I just get irritated with the "let's see what we can get free from Disney" bit. My husband works in guest services and I can't believe what his managers will tell him to comp stuff for. :notink:

I still think that anyone stupid enough to pull stuff like that should be made to suffer ridicule in public. Headline: "Stupid Guest at Disneyland Nearly Causes Float Accident Chasing Water Bottle." You embarrass people enough, they'll learn to think and not embarrass themselves again. That is why my generation and all those before were shamed and spanked whenever we did something wrong. The idea was to teach the child that there are consequences, and that if they do wrong they will be punished. Humiliation never killed anybody, but I can think of a few times it should have.

Im a male so your pharsing was correct. Im not sure exactly what she was weaing and as for color to me it looked blue, but seeing how color, race, and detailed things are hard to distinguish looking through shark tooth gauze (more commonally known as a scrim) im not able to give you a great description. I went looking for the lady with the best possiable identification I could get out of her passing the float.

If you want more details I would be glad to share them in a PM.
