also... i thought it was funny the time I was holding a tram for an african american family and was probably in the background of their picture holding my fist up in the air. silly white girl.. what the hell is she doing in our picture?

Yeah I use a few gestures int eh lighting and parade department too.

for lighting:

If standind on teh stage checking a lights focus and trying to yell to the booth doesnt always work so we use this signal:

left hand in the air pointing at the light needed on then with right hand point to booth. Shack both hnads while arms extended.

Or if a light is about to fall jere is what yuo signal:

but both arms in teh air wave them back in fourth while running in a different direction as the light is going to fall


For parades:

When prepping floats to get into the lineup we use this signal meaning float is moving. (more so used for spectro at night with glow sticks.

cross both hands in front of you (or glow sticks) and wave them back and fourth.

Also if a float runs over someone in the parade route one you usally hear over the headset( or some variation of this) STOP THE FUCKING FLOAT THERE IS SOMEONE UNDER IT or YOU IDIOT YOU RAN OVER A GUESTS FOOT

We use those exact ones in Paris, too. I've worked both BTM and Peter Pan ther eand they are in use all over the place. :)

Figured I might as well contribute here (I've made some posts as a guest a year ago, now finally a CM)

At Peter Pan in WDW we use Clear when coming back from a handpack or e-stop, and th emost important one is empty boat with a finger (or 2 or 3 fingers signifying how many empoty boats in a row were sent) and rotated in the air in the "Whoop-dee-do" motion. At small world we use Hold and Track Crossing.

While not a hand motion, we have the "Hiss" in Fantasyland. If you want to get a CM's attention, hiss like a snake. It's annoying as hell, but it sticks with you. Any time I hear a hiss (by guest, ride system, snake, leaky pipe, etc.) I immediately direct my attention over to it.

At Spaceship Earth, We put one hand on top of the other to make a "T" sign (like calling timeout in sportsball) when unload is clear for load to start the ride back up or put it in full speed from low speed. As far as I know, SSE is the only attraction that uses that.

On parades, holding a flashlight in the air horizontally = emergency, or pyro getting cancelled.

Or, just yelling, "WATERMELON!!!!" for emergencies. Used last New Year's Eve. just because it was so random! LOL

Anyone work at WDW MK yesterday for Share a Dream? Almost got to hear that one in Liberty Square. What's the sign for 3 Disney Princesses fell off the float cuz some dumb lady decided that she needed to dart across the street 18 inches in front of the finale float and it had to stop very suddenly? That almost got used too. Takes a special kind of stupid, doesn't it?
