I was at merge at Buzz and I had a long line of Fast pass, so i let them all in and collect their fastpasses. In the stand by line, there was this hispanic family, the son asked me when they get to go in and I said when I collect all the fast passes. Then, the mother goes, "Don't you let some in fast passes and some stand by". By the time, I collected all the fast passes, and let some stand by in. The father goes, "It's about damn time!" I guess they don't understand the concept of a fast pass. They are just so impatient.

Dan, use the timer on the wall behind you. If they give you
any shit, you just say "It's your turn when the little alarm beeps."
If they have a bitch fit, then it's "the system" and not you.

If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.

There are a few things that happen every so often that get on my nerves. For example, one family goes up to the greeter, and finds out that they need to wait X number of minutes before they can be let in. Another few people come up, and have the same problem. The next people who come up actually have a fastpass that would let them in at this time, but they see a line forming under FASTPASS RETURN, and they assume that they should stand in it. Then, everybody ends up waiting for the time that the people in front of them can go in, when they didn't need to. Nobody in the line knows what is going on, so they just stand there waiting for it to move.

I am not sure if I described this well enough, so if anybody has seen what I am talking about, let me know.

That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I hated asking people who formed this "line" that if they had a return time that was now in effect or earlier and the ones that had them came up follwed by those who would sneak in until I redirected them back to the outside until their time was up. I also hated it when a party returns but one person has a ticket later than the everyone elses.

THEM-But she/he got their tickets at the same time as we did!
ME-Too bad!

I also loved it when they decide to wait until their time was on instead of just returning! God, I hated when the idiots came back early just to hear myself coach them about what the back of the ticket says about early arrivals. I also wanted to pulverize stupid CMs for allowing people to come in early, too! They should know better than that!

I usually let the party in all together if 1 ticket was a later time. At Mansion during holiday I had a whole spiel.

"We are accepting fastpasses for "insert time here" and earlier. If your fastpass is for after "insert time here" please return at the time indicated on your fastpass."

One on one basis, I told them not to crowd the enterence as this was an emergancy exit, and if they wanted to wait to do so on the other side of a particular trashcan. I also pointed to the green clock next to the gate and told anyone who showed me their watch/cellphone/other time keeping device that we go by that particular clock.

So no CMs will post anything about "...that SG BARGED right past people to ask what the line was for... then proceeded to ask what time was the Fastpass Return Time...." ;)

I am reading the unofficial guide to WDW book for my trip in 8 months. I just read something that I instantly thought oh no this is asking for trouble. It says right in the book. (I can type exactly what it says if curious) that at both WDL and WDW they let you use the fast passes AFTER the time expired. So say you got it in the morning and due to return between 1-1:30. Accoriding to the book both parks CMs will let you use fast pass return at 3pm. hmmm

Yes, you can use Fast Pass tickets after your time window without trouble and I've done that several times. In fact, all CMs must honor Fast Pass tickets regardless of if their return time was earlier. I did have some stupid jerk who almost didn't let us in one day because we didn't arrive in the time window issued. I argued with him and he had to ask another CM if we could come in anyway! In seconds, he felt like an ass when he was told that were were allowed in! My friend who was with me noticed that he made a snide remark afterwards. He was lucky we didn't report him to City Hall. Of course I always knew that we always accepted Fast Pass tickets even if people were late for their return time and I always told guests that after they get their tickets that they don't necessarily have to return at that time and those guests ALWAYS thanked me!

Remember, this is the same book that actually printed a suggestion from one parent for others to buy their own kids who are just a little too short the 'ugliest, talliest shoes with large thick soles and heels' to allow them to ride the rides the kids are too short for.

I love the book because of its touring plans, resort and room layouts, restaurant ratings, etc. But to actually suggest parents ignore safety rules is really a bad idea.
