Re: Stupid Freaking Cheerleaders!!!!!
and believe me, they're no more fun when they're at their resort hotel than when they're at the parks.

I was at Epcot tonight as a guest, and after the fireworks I encountered a large group of "Brazilian Tour Group Cheerleaders." They had tour guides and matching white backpacks, and were all chanting cheers in Brazillian I guess. (It wasn't Spanish) They were also plowing through the crowd like animals, making quite a scene. I feel sorry for all the poor Cast Members that had to deal with this group tonight.

Re: Stupid Freaking Cheerleaders!!!!!
first off, this is my first post, i LOVE this web page! Im a CP at the Walt Disney Studios (Yes, the name is being changed)...
someone had posted about how the cheerleaders try to run backstage, well over at the studios they are ALLOWED backstage, at least in specific locations, they take one of our backstage exits to get to their performance/practice building that they built in our cast parking lot and took up half the lot with the damn thing!
they also shut down our indiana jones stunt show for a day so that the cheerleaders may perform and get tapped by espn, i had a number of upset guests because of that.
i work at the sci-fi dine in in the front of the house as a greater, seater, and table assigner. for some reason the cheerleaders like to come in in groups of 20+ 15 minutes before we close and demand to be sat without reservations....how fun is that!?
and btw, i was at epcot last night as a guest as well and yes, the brazilion cheer leaders were VERY annoying, yelling things in a language i dont understand and really bothering the crowd on their way out of the park after illuminations.

Re: Stupid Freaking Cheerleaders!!!!!
not exactly cheerleaders, but...ok, i've been to wdw in the summer, you know, when its nice and hot and of course...humid. those tour groups were runnin around and all..like normal...loud and pushy. my question is....has anyone been in line for a ride in the middle of august (hot and humid) and then been basically stood ON by some of these folks? i mean we had zero space to move around in. we eventually resorted to such fun things as.
me "hey, hows your rash doing? is it contagious?"
my friend "not sure yet, the doc says i should be careful and not rub it on things for now tho, espeically direct skin contact with others."
yeah that worked....some of the time. but dang that was annoying..like cramming in and standing on my toes, waving your flag, and using your backpack as a battering ram is going to get you on the ride any faster. sheesh!
ok maybe im just bitter, or cranky in the heat...but yeah.. my 2 cents.

Re: Stupid Freaking Cheerleaders!!!!!
I have a question...if Walt Disney World has the Wide World of Sports full of areas to have such competitions....How come Disney still holds cheerleading competitions in the parks?
And to the member who said cheerleading is not a sport is wrong...it is...as much as football, soccer, or even track for that matter!!! As long as it's done correctly and with dignity...not like the one you guys are talking about, they give cheerleading a bad name!
How ever I did see a bunch of plastered pop warner chaperones at PI on my last trip. They tried to teach guests at the Adventurer's Club a cheer, but could hardly get the words correct! It was very annoying...but funny at the same time!

I wish the higher ups would realise this and use the milkhouse stadium and rest of the UNDERUSED complex. And stop speading these competitions out over the entire year. I was just at studios and saw the warm-up tent is back up, killing about 100 CM parking spots. Give us and the poor Guests a break already. These girls and boys are so out of control and rude.mickeysgal wrote:I have a question...if Walt Disney World has the Wide World of Sports full of areas to have such competitions....How come Disney still holds cheerleading competitions in the parks?
