i wish we could do musical chairs or have our greeter tell the guests we're not signing right now.

Such is the difference between Orlando and Anaheim.

That's a reason I am not a host yet. They have the job of taking everybody's crap when the characters are playing a game, hustling to a special event such as a make-a-wish or tour passing.
Also notice how the guests never seem to ask the CHARACTERS for the autograph, but the hosts:

Lady: Excuse me, I need the White Rabbit's autograph.
Host: I'm sorry ma'am, but the White Rabbit is late for a very important date, but he will be back out after his engagement.
Lady: Listen, my plane is leaving in 5 minutes. I'm in a hurry and he's the last one I need.
Host: I'm sorry, but I wouldn't want you to be late for your flight that's leaving... in 5 minutes.....
Lady: WELL F$^% YOU TOO!!!! AARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
Host: You COULD try asking the White Rabbit, if you can catch him!

Whenever somebody would say something like that to me at Fastpass return I'd tell them that insted of arguing with me about not letting you in the Fastpass line why don't you get over to the airport so they can get you on another flight since you have just missed your flight. I used to live by the airport and I know that it takes at least 20 mins, if you are driving fast to get from WDW to Orlando International Airport. And about an hour if you are unlucky enough to leave from Sanford.

There are no major airports 5 min from Disneyland either but that wont stop people from lying! I was workin parades a couple of weeks ago and a few of the GC CM's were playin tag in front of the train station before the begining of the show. They were havin fun the Kids were havin fun and everything was grand until someone had to complain about ruining the view for the parade that hadn't even started! (The nerve of some people) Its just sad when CM's in general go out of the way to entertain the kids only to have someone rain on their parade.

hahah seriously.
Yesterday, down in Critter COuntry, Tigger, Eeyore, and Pooh were running around for their last 15 and people who didn't want to wait in line at the location tried to hunt them down for pictures and autographs, even though the host said "Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore will NOT be signing autographs right now!" But of course, families still shoved books into faces and pens into hands. One group of children of about 9 years grabbed onto Tigger and said, "you're not going anywhere until you give us your autograph!" So some man went to complain to the lead that "the characters [were] causing chaos." Umm.. okay? The host grabbed Tigger and let the man's son, who had previously hung on his tail, take a picture with him, and the man left. Whoa! Chaos suddenly disappeared, eh?

uno mas, por favor... PLEEEEEEES! IS for DUh babe-a

my goodness this one gets me. Its like, i understand that people need to get pictures and i also understand that a good caracter escort will remind people how much time goofy or said character has at a locaton before he has to leave. However... i dont get this one... they send their kids after you and they scream at the top of their lungs..."PLEEEEEEEEEASE! IS FOR DA BAAAAABAAAAAY! its like woa people, its ok, they'll be back in like 10 min... if it means that much to you, hang out for a few... they arent going to leave forever!

THIS ONE really cracked me up!!

Goofy was in Town Square on friday night... at 11:55 PM... when his host announced that he would be leaving in 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, of course, goofy walked his line and gave handshakes, and proceeded to start to walk in.

Then, some lady yelled, "STOP RIGHT THERE!! What is this!? You should have cut off the line!!"

Host: "I'm sorry, ma'am, but the park is now closed and Goofy has to return to Toontown before Max wakes up and starts watching TV again."

Lady: "This isn't fair!! i've been in line for 45 minutes (keep in mind, characters are only out for 30 mins)!! We've been looking for GOofy all day! WE CAME TO SEE GOOFY!!"

okay people, if seeing a specific character is #1 on your list, don't wait til midnight to do so. It's kind of contradicting in and of itself.

This might belong under the autograph book thread not sure but here we go. I have been working the parade route as of late and before the second parade we like to play games with the kids. So we were just about to play red light green light when Cinderella, Suzie and Perla came over to join us asking if we were going to play games. Cindy tells me they only have 15 minutes so they aren't going to sign autographs but want to play games with us (Cindy has joined us for games before).

So we announce to the children we are going play games and you wouldn't believe the number of people who wanted autographs. I explained Cindy didn't have much time (Had to get ready for the parade find Prince Charming yada yada). Needless to say the adults weren't happy. The children didn't seem to care too much they were excited to play Red Light Green Light with 3 characters.

Then the parents wouldn't get out of the way for us to play our games they wanted to take pictures and what not. Well for the most part it was a lot of fun.

Haha yeah, that can get really annoying... having the adults yell "WE WANT PICTURES, NOT GAMES!!" as they slowly close in on you. Goofy, Minnie, and Pluto were in Toontown a few nights ago and were doing the Hokey Pokey with a bunch of children. When Minnie does her atmosphere sets, people mob her like she's going out of style. So everyone was doing the Hokey Pokey, as the adults and impatient families started creeping closer, when suddenly a very impatient group ran up to the characters with their books and cameras ready. The other families took this as a challenge, so there was literally a stampede and it got to the point where the host had to pull the characters in and go onstage through a different entrance. I'd say about 15 guests followed them backstage. Toontown is madness.
