Geez, I hate people like that. Those are the AP's I would tell off when I was an AP. I hated the ones who were giving us well behaved ap's a bad name. Oh well if someone comes up to me trying to tell me that AP's get this or that priviledge I will enjoy saying well I am an AP and I can tell you that no you don't! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! (cause my ap is still valid lol)

It's funny, here at my park (Legoland if you didn't know) there are special parking spots for people who have the "Ambassador Pass" which is a $1000 lifetime pass that allows them to get into all four Legolands for free.
If I get anyone that waves their card for anything other than their discounts I give them the blank "does it look like I give a f*ck" look

I will admit, I was an AP before I worked at Disneyland but I was NEVER the way the AP's are now. I always listened to CM's, respected them and actually looked up to them. Today, it seems like AP's are more of a cult in Disneyland. I always like it when AP's say I'm ruining "the magic" when I'm telling some other guest about cool facts and I always reply, "YOU have web sites that bash Disney, look into their political business affairs and much more and you don't think THAT'S ruining the magic?" "And, did I invite you into the conversation? (dont say it but think it)" AP's are a unique breed of people.

I always thought it would be so cool to have an Annual Passport. As kids my parents did the Zoo membership so we lived at the Wild Animal Park every weekend for years. I envied those I knew who had an AP now if I were to quit I would get one but you'd never know I was one.

My husband and I were in the main branch of the Credit Union and we ran into this other couple who used to work on the West side - as a matter of fact, he trained me on Rafts - anyway, they were laughing - it had been about 5 years since they had quit at that point and they said "yeah, we're about to become *them* - we're getting Annual Passes," which led to knowing laughter everywhere we were heard.
The thought of getting passes still makes me nervous - you don't want your former friend, along with people you don't know - to hate you for having a stupid piece of plastic in your wallet, but considering how badly behaved a significant percentage of the AP's are, it's a wonder all AP's at all parks aren't tarred with the same brush!

To be honest, most APs are not idiots, but there is a sufficient number of idiots to tarnish the image for everyone else. But I was a passholder for nine years, and I have tons of friends who are passholders, and I can tell you that simply being a passholder isn't going to make you a pariah among the cast members. Just like anyone else, cast members don't dislike you for being a passholder -- they dislike you for being a jerk who happens to own an annual pass.

Before I hired in most people (because they saw me often) thought I worked there. Then I had to admit....no I have an annual pass. I just happened to like studying at disneyland as opposed to a library. I always appreciated that the CM's I came to know got to know me for who I was and the fact that I had...errr...have and annual pass had no bearing on their judgment of me. I know for a while I was afraid to admit I had one cause of the bad behavior I saw exhibited by many others.
But I feel bad for the good AP's who are always well behaved and the jerks come in and ruin it for them. I think when you run across a jerk who has an AP all the good AP's should be allowed to beat the sh*t out of them for making the rest look bad. There's something to be said for positive peer pressure. lol :D:

I totally agree. There are some APs that are really nice, but there are APs that tell you how to do your job. Those are the ones that get on my nerve.

But isn't it the guests that are 'just guests' are the ones that you don't remember? And the guests that get on your nerves, could be (but not always) APers, tell you how to do your job, demand a discount, jump up and down and say they are a APer (like that should make a difference), are the ones you remember ?
Just like if I go on a ride and nothing special happens, I don't remember the name of the CM or (at the end of the day) what he/she even looked like. But if I I have a special request (like using a tri-pod at Fantasmic! at WDW), and the CM says "I can't let you unfold the legs." And I say, "Ok, no problem." And then 5 minutes before the show, that same CM comes up to me and directs me to an open handicapped area, and ;) . Then I ask for that CMs name, and make HUGE mention of her at Guest Relations as my wife and I are walking out.
