My, my, what a great group of folks here. I was 2 when Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

I was in Oregon, and I did not remember much either.

I heard a few years ago it was a hoax and NASA made it up? That's odd, when we lived in the Washington D.C. area....We did go to the Air and Space Musuem and saw the space exhibits. They looked real to me.

It's funny, there is a scientific or professional explanation for their reasons why the moon landing was a hoax; here are a few:

None of the pictures have stars. This is because the cameras they were using were set to the day setting for pictures on Earth, they are taking in so much light that the stars are washed out and the sky is all black.

There is no air on the moon, the flag couldn't wave like we sometimes see it. Whenever this happens it is because someone is holding onto the flag pole and moving it. The flag moves because of inertia.

There is a picture where the astronaut is on the ladder and is visible even though he is in a shadow; this would require a second light source which couldn't be used on the moon. First, they could have taken lights with them without difficulty. Second the surface of the moon is extremely reflective which is why we can actually see it at night, it is reflecting the light from the sun. Enough light is reflected off the surface outside of the shadow that the astronaut is visible.

Pictures on the moon show shadows going at different angle; this couldn't happen with one light source. Shadows seem to appear at different angles because of the nature of a rough surface. This is one they could test themselves, during the day when there are no lights on, walk outside, there is only one light source, the sun. Look at some shadows in different areas, you will notice that shadows on different objects may appear to be at different angles, but you have assured that the only light source is the sun. The shadow is warped by the object it is on.

One of these people has a picture with a rock with the letter C on it; this is a label for props used on a sound stage. I have worked on a stage, props are not labeled with letters in any stage I know of including sound stages, if they are the letter is not placed directly on the prop. Of course, any stage worth anything would have so many props that they would quickly run out of letters and have to start doubling up causing more issues when the prop is covered with it's designation. Of course it turns out that the print the guy had had a hair on it making the C which is not part of the real picture. This probably wouldn't stop this guy because of photoshop so it is important to note that the C is not on the negative of the image which would be hard to fake.

I think you get the idea, these guys have no idea what they are talking about and may not realize the kind of technology we have today. Although, you know it's bad if Mythbusters has to do an episode on it, honestly.

Maybe they'll do a show on the birthers phenomenon.

I did question out my dad on this. He said it was not fake. There was bad picture quality. I still am convinced some of it was bogus. My dad said to go to NASA at Cocoa Beach and check it out. My dad's friend who has been on the Space Station told me to check out the place. I will try that next year.

Hey - if Uncle Walt (Cronkite) said it was real --- it was real!

Good grief...this was a government operation. Don't you think if it had been fake it would have come to the surface by now and have been proven a hoax. The government folks are just not smart enough to hide something that big for this long.

Besides that (you're right) if Uncle Walter Cronkite said it...it happened.
