If you check the two sets of Signal Flags outside Typhoon Lagoon, the one on the left (facing from the parking lot) says "Surfs Up" while the one on the right says "Piranha in Pool".
I once asked one of the senior managers if it meant only one piranha, but he said the word can be singular or plural.
Yeah right.

It's True!
I saw the Piranha(s) on the Jungle Boat Cruise, and didn't someone say that the water was circulated between the attractions?
Ms. Matterhorn is lucky she made it with only wet pants! :p:

The leeches live in the water in the Rivers of America at Disneyland. At least they did when I worked there, many years ago. I don't know how they got in there, but every once it a while, you'd see them floating around.DisneyMom wrote:Then WHAT did I see?!?!

Re: Yeah right.
They probably got there when the Upjohn Pharmacy on Main Street was closed. They used to have a honking big jar of leeches the pharmacist would take down and show anyone foolish enough to ask about them.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:The leeches live in the water in the Rivers of America at Disneyland. And yeah, Disneyland really did used to have a licensed pharmacist at the Upjohn Pharmacy. One of them went to university with my parents. We walked in and he greeted them by name.
"Paul, what are you doing here? I thought you graduated and got your pharmacy license?"
"I did, but the job market's a bit tight, so when I was offered this job I jumped at it. Easy hours, no clerks to supervise, I dispense nothing but these sample vitamin bottles, and best of all -- no malpractice insurance!"
The whole rest of the day my father was muttering to himself about five years of university to hand out vitamin samples and shaking his head.

Yes, actually that was the story they used to tell about how the leeches got into the river.Zazu wrote:They probably got there when the Upjohn Pharmacy on Main Street was closed. This doesn't have anything to do with the pre-Viagra joke about the pill for men over 40 does it?Zazu wrote:...Upjohn Pharmacy...
