Space 1999 was one of my favorites. Bring back Firefly!!
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

You had a dog that was a registered nurse? Cool! :p:Widget wrote:Well this will get the thread way off topic. Sort of.
My wonderful collie Caibor's Darn You Daggit CD RN, aka 'Starbuck', decided that he is not ready to retire from the obedience circuit just yet. He has one leg left out of three to attain his Rally Advanced title. And yes I know the image that some of you now have of a three-legged dog trying to run around a ring :D: .
Anyway before his turn he's acting like a ten month old puppy instead of the ten year old dog that he is. Full of energy, barking, looking for the treats that I had hidden for later. Then he goes into the ring. Wouldn't listen. Pretended he couldn't hear the commands. Refused the jump the first time. The second time he took the jump but knocked it over. Grrrr. We go again in a couple weeks.
But considering a year ago I almost lost him I am not really that upset. He has myasthenia gravis that is currently in remission. Nasty type of auto immune disease that left him pretty much paralyzed until a few thousand dollars worth of tests were performed. Now he is on Mestinon, the same medication used for humans for the same condition. Great medication except it just went up almost $50 a bottle to $150. At least it lasts three to four months. Too bad I can't put him on my insurance.

Well he is a collie. He has to live up to the Lassie stereotype :D:

Welllllllll.......I've never heard of a dog RN, but I understand that dogs can be trained to detect cancer with their superior noses so they DO have the capability to "Diagnose" ;)Whazzup wrote:You had a dog that was a registered nurse? Cool! :p:
Reminds me of an old joke.....
Man's dog is run over by a car, so he brings the limp body in to the Vet's.....
Vetrinarian (hope I spelled it right) takes a quick glance, listens with his stethescope, and shakes his head, "I'm so sorry, but your dog is dead."
The Dog's owner is hysterical, and cries, "No! it can't be! Can't you do anything else?!"
Vet sighs, says," Ok, I'll be right back", and returns with a cat.
Cat takes a slow stroll all around the pooch and then the Vet brings in a Golden Retriever, who sniffs at the dog laying there, then the Vet lets them out of the exam room.
He returns with the final diagnosis-"I'm sure he's dead."
The Dog's owner, crying, says, "OK, how much do I owe you?'
The Vet replies, "$400.00"
The owner is shocked. "$400.00 just to tell me my dog is dead?!?"
"No," the Vet replied,
"$50 for me, and $350 for the Cat Scan and the Lab Work!"

Someone who completely understands my point of view. YAY!Widget wrote:My Starbuck was named for the BSG character. Dirk Benedict's from the 1978 original and only decent version of the show; not the female wannabee from Ron Moore's abomination remake. Obviously someone was confused when that gender change came about.
I'm not a tourist cause I work there...
