Looking for input on possible DLR trip
Re: Looking for input on possible DLR trip
I have been there and done it. I am there several times a week.
Your's is spread out more and has better things to see. If it rains like yesterday, our island is a slip hazard and the show still is a go. I see that the spaces have seriously shrunk and they have VIP viewing areas that can hold 50 guests. Then the other spots I think can hold 3,000. The first show is usually crowded and very hard to get seats. If there is a second show, it is not as bad. :D:

Re: Looking for input on possible DLR trip
Alright, yet another change of plans, kinda. We are moving the dates of the trip so that we will be leaving on May 23rd and getting home on the 29th. So we will have the stop in Vegas on the 23rd and stop at SF:MM on the way to DLR on the 24th putting us visiting the parks form the 25th to the 28th when we will leave a little bit later and stop in Vegas before getting home on the 29th. This even addresses the reason we were going the first week of June which was commencement on May 30th. This also means that I will be there on my birthday!

Re: Looking for input on possible DLR trip
While I agree with all you've written, I gotta admit that "cranky" is at times le bon mot. I get cranky just knowing I've been assigned to PAC duty. I get worse when guests argue with me about safety rules.mechurchlady wrote:Disneyland has to keep the area in front of the Mansion clear as it is an emergency exit path and it is the main artery to and from Critter Country. They have to legally provide for traffic into and out of Critter Country in case there was something to happen in Critter Country.
This is not nice wording about people who are doing their job. Someone in some government seat of power tells Disney they cannot block the aisle which means some person is posted to keep law breakers moving. CRANKY is not a nice word for people in general.
Zazu should I go to the time out corner now. CMs are not cranky people but doing their jobs which often are dictated by corporate rules, insurance and government.
On a bad day I can slip from cranky straight through crabby and end up at pissy!

Zazu wrote:Not hardly. The Capacity of the Fantasmic! amphitheater is approximately 6,900 seated guests plus room for approximately 3,000 standing guests for a total of about 9,900.
Disneyland claims room for 6,430 "standing guests" plus room for 3,000 more (sitting?) for a total of 9,430, about the same.
Okay, so you believe your own estimate is more accurate than the Company's official numbers. That or you think I'm lying about it. I get it.turkeyham wrote:I have been there and done it. I am there several times a week.

The last word in my previous post? That's what I'm feeling right now.

Re: Looking for input on possible DLR trip
I was on the Canal Boats yesterday. Dude has a kid on either side and mom and a kid opposite him and next to me. CM says to the SG to remove his backpack but the dude is not listening so I put a finger over the strap and said that he needs to remove it as he could end up in the canal, lol. Instantly he removed it. At Agrabah on the end portion his kid stands up and CM stops the boat and says to sit down. Finally I said to sit down and like doh. Why did I have to point to his backpack strap and then tell him to sit the kid down?
I was very good though the canal would be a good place for him.
Hgus for Zazu and today I saw so many SGs.The worst was on Pooh. Pooh was down because of projection or projector and they were cycling the ride out. Dude in front of me tells his kid that if the kid did not hurry then the lady would get mad. She is a nice CM who would wait.

Tour Update:
We will not be doing the "Cruzin' Disney's California Adventure Park" tour because I want to do the tour we take as a family and there are certain parties in my family that are not making an effort to get under the weight limit. This means that I will need to wait to do this tour at another time when that isn't an issue. This leaves us with two tours to pick from because the "Discover the Magic" tour seems to only be on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and we will not be in the parks those days and the VIP Tour Services is too expensive. This leaves us with the "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" which we have all done before in the past and the "Welcome to Disneyland" tour which I feel would be silly for us to do because we are there so often. I personally have done "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" multiple times, and that is the only tour at DLR that I have done. My question to you is, should we do "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" again or would it be entertaining to take the "Welcome to Disneyland" tour? Admittedly, I don't think any of us has done "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" recently and I can guarantee that it has changed because that was before the gallery was changed into the dream suite.

That's a great tip, thanks. That is one thing we haven't done yet because the day we want isn't on sale yet.Whazzup wrote:Lasolimu - here's a link to a TravelZoo special on Penn & Teller's show in Las Vegas, save 40% off through June.

Re: Looking for input on possible DLR trip
Slight change of plans. I just found out that Penn & Teller are going to be doing a tour on the East coast on May 23rd when we were planning to see them. At this point we are locked in to the dates because of previously purchased show tickets that cannot be refunded or exchanged and we still want to do these dates anyway. This does leave us showless on the 23rd though and I am looking for suggestions. I am currently looking at Criss Angel Believe, but feel free to suggest any type of show that is not adult in nature.
