Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Speaking of... I rode a bus for the first time in a while from TTC to MGM and it was reminiscent of that time I spent accidentally locked in a dark closet.
This post was done completely sleep deprived and after some bad interactions with fellow "employees" i cant bring myself to calling them Cast Members.
But i am serious... I am going to blow the dust off of my copy of Office and turn the Spell Chec on.. and yes Kurt.. ill even get a new keyboard so the "s" key works...

Re: What is a Cast Member
I have to say we have met some absolutely wonderful CMs that Walt would have been very proud to have on his team. I think there are more who fit the mold than do not, but as with most things, the ones who do not really stand out. I remember a manager in the store that used to be the cinema, when they were pushing all the parks and even had Hong Kong Disneyland t-shirts before it opened. I asked him when Disney would start offering a single annual pass for all its parks. He said that would never happen because they do not own all of the international parks. I said that was understandable (to a degree) but what about DL and WDW. He turned and walked away from me without another word. I was amazed that this guy could work here and in a management position, no less.
I guess my hope for one annual pass to both WDW and DL has a chance now with the restructuring I just read about. I think someone also brought it up at the last shareholders meeting, last year. Who knows, but it would be nice for those of us who visit both parks regularly. Although it probably is too costly to convert one system to accomodate a very small percentage of guests who would want to visit both parks that many times in a year.

Re: What is a Cast Member
Fortunately, Walt would have been proud of almost every CM we met on this trip. There were a few bus drivers who just wanted to say hi! and, bye!
It was the clerk at WoD who told us to go get our AP Bonus at Information. (We just got our first APs on this trip.)
It was the restaurant hostesses that even though Central ADR gave us two separate ressies of two, put all four of us in a car at Sci-Fi.
It was our servers at Portobello who had a happy party of 12 and provided fantastic service.
It was the loader at KSR who let my wife and I have a back row all to ourselves so she could get great pictures.
It was the girls at the MK Barber Shop who convinced my wife to get Pixie Dust in her hair after my cut.
It was the CM who told us the 10:00 Spectro gets to Liberty Square at 10:20 which gave us enough time to ride HM.
It was our own Big Wallaby, coming in early one day, to meet us in Tomorrowland because it would have been tough to get to him.*
Karma came back around, he got to see us in our formal outfits when we took a Monorail from EPCOT to TTC and he was on the TTC platform.
It was the Living Seas divers getting their groove on during our reception.
It was all the staff keeping the parks clean.
Next time you're in a park, say thank you to a custodial sweeper.
It's all the little things that you don't realize happened.
Cast Members want to be there and it shows.
*we met him on 2/15 with a group of 12 and took a WEDway People Mover ride with him before he had to get ready for work. By 2/20 58 people were at our Vow Renewal Ceremony and reception.

It is the tram driver who took time out to lift the cab cover to show my friend the engine of the tram cab motor. He explained things in detail and never made my friend feel rushed. Calvin is like my dad in that he loves engines and how things work. I left them alone and stood a bit away and it was so nice to see two men talking like as if they were neighbors talking about a car.
The lady at the ticket booth was very patient with me.

Actually, I can tell you the person you were in the cab with, while one of them, is not the person at the top of McKey's list. This person is truly amazing. I had a run in with her last night acting as a guest, and she was very rude to Shorty82 and me as we boarded the Monorail. She rushed us aboard despite my asking to ride in the front cab (on an empty platform), she argued with me as opposed to listening, and was downright rude. I would really like to see her fired.kurtisnelson wrote:You stuck me in a cab with him on purpose!!!! And yes, if that is the guy you are talking about, I think he should go drive a bus where they encourage that behavior.
Please, depending on the order, not on the same day.hobie16 wrote:Mountain climbing and submarine driving?
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
