Boo to Disney, who bowed to the people's rage,
Tiana a girl from a well off part of town, was suppost to be Maddy, from a poor side of town, but when Disney showed people some prework story
and art, people said Disney was racist! People don't realize a lot of the other princesses were from poor sides of town...
but they screamed doing it with Maddy was racist. all hail Disney,
the great butt kisser!!
this really bites my goat, what disney turning into?
at least release Maddy's artwork, so people can see what happened.
Princess and the Frog
Re: Princess and the Frog
While I do agree that immediately backing down from any and all shouts of "RACIST!" "BIGOT!" merely increases the probability that the same accusations will be flung again....
... A lot of the other "princesses" who began their stories on the poor side of town didn't actually become princesses until the end of their stories. Cinderella and Belle are the two princesses who stand out most to me as examples of this type of story arc.
In the stories in which the "princess" really IS a princess by birth she does tend to exist in more affluent surroundings. Jasmine and Ariel are particular examples of this type of story arc.
That said, I can see how people who tend to be pre-disposed toward seeing inequality might point out the deviation from the normal Disney template. The story is called The Princess and the Frog. Drawing from the traditional Disney storytelling it could be expected that, as the "princess" begins her story with the title, her upbringing would fit more into the molds of Jasmine and Ariel.
Now, let's all avoid spiraling into our very own "RACIST!" "BIGOT!" argument and simply allow everyone to have their own point of view. Let us instead focus on that which we do have in common and rejoice in the prospect of the return of hand drawn animation. :)

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
