I just wanted to offer my sympathy to those who have lost a friend and co-worker.
The link does not exist but I remember this story from November of 2007.
On Nov. 24, ride attendant Karen Price, 63, was working on an elevated rider-loading platform when she was struck by a Primeval Whirl ride vehicle and knocked to the ground, where she hit her head. She died five days later.

The OSHA report specifically relates only one of the serious violations to the incident. The report noted that both the A and B sides of the ride lacked "machine guarding" to protect operators; without it, they were "exposed to being struck by or crushed by a roller coaster" as it moved past the loading platforms. OSHA fined Disney $7,000 for that.

OSHA also fined Disney a total of $4,000 for two other "serious" violations that the report did not specifically tie to the incident — that employees who walked in one area were exposed to tripping over supports affixed to the ground; and that they were exposed to a fall on stairs that were not uniform.

Disney was fined $7,500 for a repeat violation that OSHA had first cited in July: not providing a handrail on a stairwell. Finally, Disney was fined $3,000 for not providing certain records within four days.
A life apparently is worth $18,500.

Their is more to the storie then what is being said about the spin a nd puke.... errrr i mean Prime Evil Hurl....

That cast member was a seasonal "snow bird" CM that had worked that attraction before. They are trained that when the you load a car to step back, signal for dispatch, and allow the board op dispatch. Once dispatched, you NEVER approach a vehical in motion till after the E-Stop had been pressed and system shut down.

her error was that she approached a vehical that was dispatched and did not initiate a e-stop or request one from the board op.

Tho this injury and death is sad, If you play by your rules and not that of the safety guidelines as instructed, then no one is at fault by you. This comes not from a cold hartless person, but a Fire Fighter and EMT that has credintials in Life Safety instruction.
