Stuff to Do in Vegas...

Post by Freak » Sun Aug 29, 2004 2:06 pm

I'm heading up to Vegas with my family next weekend, and besides gambling (because I'm too damn young), are there any way cool things to do up there? I haven't been in about 3 years now, and I'd just like to plan a few things for myself when we go up. I know they have those rollercoasters....any other must do's?

I say, take in the the sights of the city, walk down the Las Vegas Strip. See the outdoor shows, or indoor shows, if you have the money. Out doors shows like the Pirate show at the Treasure Island or the water show at the Bellagio. Go shopping at the outlets. Stuff like that......

Check out the new monorail system! See what Disney could have if they weren't so cheap.

When I was under 21 I used to always play video games at Gameworks, New York New York, Excalibur, and Luxor. All of them are a decent walking distance from each other so if it's video games you're into definitely check that area out. As far as roller coasters go I don't recommend the one at New York New York. It's over $10 now for one ride and I didn't think it was that great when I went on it. I do like the one at Circus Circus, though, and I don't think it's more than $6 for one ride.

Other than that I definitely recommend taking in the sights of the city. Bellagio is pretty nice, and so is Caesars Palace if it wasn't for all that construction.

I agree. I went on it a week ago. It's pretty cool to see a public transportation monorail that actually takes you somewhere instead of in a big circle. Only problem I had was that it's on the east side of the Strip casinos, which meant a long hike through the MGM Grand to get to the station and then another long hike from the Flamingo station to get to Caesars Palace.

Hope that helps!

I thought the pirate show was gone and is now some show with sirens (the singing kind, not the loud flashing kind)

Yup! Even Bombardier couldn't screw it up permanently. Nothing like an $85,000/day penalty for late opening to get you motivated!
