Oct 3rd and 4th
So, I read this thread at Board X and well, I have to laugh. Does anyone know the real story why they cancelled MNSSHP on the 3rd of October and don't have it on the 4th.
The rumours are ranging from Press Event to Miley Cyrus' Birthday...
Any know? Bueller?

Grumpy- I know I'm tired because I had to reread what you wrote a few times because I swore it read "Pirate Party"

Personally, I like the idea of a Pirate Party as long as there's plenty of rum. As to the Oct 3 cancellation.Notatourist wrote:Grumpy- I know I'm tired because I had to reread what you wrote a few times because I swore it read "Pirate Party"

I wonder what they do for guests who have tickets for that night?
"Gee, I'm sorry that's the only night you can go. Tough luck."

Re: Oct 3rd and 4th
Just to clarify, there are two different "issues" with October 3rd and 4th.
First, on the 3rd, they cancelled the Halloween Party. Guests are being contacted to arrange for a switch to a different party date or a refund. The park was already scheduled to close at 7PM for the party, so it stands to reason that management needed the park that evening for something.
On the 4th, it's been reported that CRO is informing Guests that the MK will be closing at 3PM. Some found out because they had dinner dining reservations that night, and were contacted to make alternative arrangements. Others called CRO and asked about the early closure, and CRO confirmed it.
*I* haven't called, and the official calendar on the WDW website still lists its closure as 9PM. (Though the online calendar isn't always the fastest-updated thing in the World).
Speculation had been that the October 3rd was for a big media event, as there's not many things that Disney would cancel a money-maker like the Halloween Party for.
Then the October 4th thing started, and rumors and speculation are flying around like mad.
So, are there any CMs that can check the Cast Hub and see what hours are listed on those days?

Re: Oct 3rd and 4th
What could be so important as to shut down any park let alone a section for half a day? The whole thing has to be something very big or someone like Oprah paid $5,000,000 for a last minute park rental. I am sure she could afford that and then add 10 million in gifts, catering, limos, etc.

MNSSHP is not showing for the 3rd while it is for the 2nd and the next Thursday and Friday.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Re: Oct 3rd and 4th
I agree with Shorty. On Friday it closes at 7:00 with Magic Music Days all day and no nighttime entertainment. On Saturday it closes at 9:00 with both Spectro and Wishes! running, as well as MMD.
Any MNSSHP is never on Saturdays.
Also there is nothing in the advisories indicating anything special going on.
