I haven't been since the price hike, but from everything I've been reading, parking stayed at $12.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Parking at DLR was $12 when I went on July 20, it probably went up Sunday as well.

Nah, parking's still twelve bucks.
Or, nothing with a CM ID. ;)
Hey, when they pay ya what we earn, ya gotta take what you can get!

That is why you cannot take a bus from DTD directly to the parks. You have to go to a resort first and then change buses. And the same is true in reverse.Cranbiz wrote: Not only did admission go up by an average of 5.5% parking went up another buck to $12 a day. We will be seeing more guests trying to park at Downtown for free and ride the bus.

Yes, I Know that is the reason.Yeti Chaser wrote:That is why you cannot take a bus from DTD directly to the parks. You have to go to a resort first and then change buses. And the same is true in reverse.![]()
When I feel like being a prick and I see a family drive up to the PI bus area, jump out of the car and ask what the best way to X park is, I ask for their room key. When they question why, I point out the sign in the load zone that states WDW guests only, please show proper ID when boarding.
Our problem is an Orlando Newspaper that likes to put down anything Disney, published a little while ago how to beat the parking fees at WDW by parking at DTD and taking the bus.

What don't they enforce that? and have a direct bus from DTD to say, the MK or Epcot? but only if you have a KEY!!Cranbiz wrote:Yes, I Know that is the reason.

Getting the card out to show a driver is not that big of a deal!

Or an AP. Last time I needed to do that hop, I walked to the contemp from MK and went from there. They really should at least offer park -> DTD, as that would be the natural flow.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:What don't they enforce that? and have a direct bus from DTD to say, the MK or Epcot? but only if you have a KEY!!

Very true, but then again, some SG's probably decided to try the "free parking" trick and ruined it for everyone!kurtisnelson wrote:Or an AP. You can't do that and not offer transportation back to the park. If a guest paid to park at a park then took the bus to DTD then how do they get back to their car once they were done at DTD?kurtisnelson wrote:Or an AP.
