No, I wish I was joking.

I can shop or dine at home - the AC SCREAMS Disney. I too thought maybe moving it to AK or AKL - anything to save the AC. I never liked the clubs - but AC, and to a lesser degree CW, were wonderful, affordable alternatives for teens and their parents. All those little princesses do grow up - and where else can you take them to have a good time when they are teens? I only go to DD because of AC - but while there my daughter and I have dropped a fair amount of cash. I think they are killing the goose that laid the golden egg, but I am biased.
And I have an actual love letter from Hathaway, who needs cuddlewinks! :D:

Wait...YOU'RE Weggie? He sent me that letter too! That two timing....ADVENTURER!!!

edited to add funny story here- we went to AC for the very first time our last trip I wanted to post the story in my blog but I never got the trip report written. Anyway, they could tell we were first timers and since we ordered the non-alcoholic drinks they really played up to us. The barstool thing alone LOL I was laughing so hard I almost slipped off and put it this way at that point it would have been a LONG fall!

Samantha Sterling posed for a pic with me :) I regret that I didn't get one with Hathaway- though I did compliment him on his scarf and get a salute LOL.

In talking with Samantha and telling her I have a major/minor Amelia Earhart obsession as well as the whole adventuring thing being huge with me- she gave me a TON of stuff to take home. I'm going to do a shadowbox. We got to talking because I was so excited I got the atlantis matchbox and napkin given to me during the Balderdash cup. I squealed so loud, I was so excited about it.

Now that stuff will be even more priceless to me cause it will have been a once in a lifetime night...I really hope they do save it in some form though and if anybody knows any "Adventurers" who were working on Monday night, April 21st, I was the chick with the scarf, the forearm crutch, and the stars in her eyes. And I do thank you ALL for a night I won't forget.

We were learning the salute, and my husband and I were looking at each other when we did it, and Samantha says to Hathaway:

"Did you just see that? That cute young couple just Kungalooshed each other. You know what that means?"

HB: "Oh yes, I know..."

SS. "Someone is going to have to get a room soon!"

ROFLMAO

*Hangs head*

How... selling out is that?!

UGH!

We at work were prematurely mourning the loss. The loss of both comedy clubs especially hit a soft place for me cause I was a very active improv and sketch actor in college. I have always always always tried to promote live comedy as an art and find any place that it was performed regularly as sacred as a church. The loss of jobs for the fine actors employed there is a great disadvantage on both their parts and the would be audience members. Most of you would not understand such things, but if you practiced it and have personally known as many talented people I have - it hurts to lose such places.

It's a crying shame.

Very disappointed that Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club are closing. Never bothered with the others but loved those 2. Now what am I going to do in the evening? I hope they have an improv club somewhere in the new mix. No Improv at Disney is a crime.

I so want to go but have the convention or I would be there. sigh. I could fly there for about #300 and admission and i could sleep on busses. Wallaby could give me a ride. so maybe $500. Oh well not even texas is a go. sigh. I give up on dreams. 10 years I waited and for what.

I'm sad now. It seems like it's ANOTHER thing that won't be there in September for me to enjoy.

However, I heard in a pp that this is going to ruin that person's next trip. They're just a few clubs- don't let it affect a trip to *the world* have a good time! :)
