Engagement
OK, first let me start by saying that I admire all you castmembers do. I have been to WDW over 20 times and each and every time you guys amaze me.
Now for my question. I will be heading down the day after Thanksgiving this year with my GF (I am 42, she is 32). We will be staying 2 for weeks in WDW at POFQ. I plan on proposing while we are down there. I cannot think of anyone better to ask than you guys on what you suggest. I am thinking about CRT as my first plan. I have also seen a YouTube video with a proposal during the pre-show of Beauty and the Beast stage show.
I would love to hear any other ideas you may have to make this as special as I can. I would also love to know if having a photographer there is an option and who do I contact?
Thank you all in advance
Joe

First, let me say, lucky bastard.... :D:ArielLover wrote: We will be staying 2 for weeks in WDW at POFQ.
either of those sounds good, but can I suggest the rose garden where Belle does her "story time".. It is a beautiful location with the castle in the background...I plan on proposing while we are down there. I cannot think of anyone better to ask than you guys on what you suggest. Good luck and (hopefully) congratulations..

Kilimanjaro Safari, on your own private safari with a marsupial who has a background in limos driving. I could even work something out with roses or something.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: Engagement
Ya could propose on POTC!!!!!!!
NO??
I proposed to DW at DL at the Snow White wishing well.
Perhaps in front of the castle at Magic Kingdom?
OR you could visit the Wedding pavillion, that would be a good site!

I like Wallaby's idea! It doesn't even need to be a private ride. Just think of the standing ovation you'd get from the truck full of guests when you propose while Wallaby pauses briefly on the Savannah, or on the bridge over the crocs. :D: Assuming the lady accepts, of course. If not, over the side with her!Big Wallaby wrote:Kilimanjaro Safari, on your own private safari with a marsupial who has a background in limos driving. Re: Engagement
First off, AWWWWWWW!
Second, I have a few suggestions...
[warning: i haven't been to DW ever, so i'm a little unsure about whether or not these attractions exist]
1. The Cinderella Castle is traditionally a romantic Disney spot. Many a proposal and marriage has taken place there. And the photo oppurtunity would be FABULOUS.
Other traditionally romantic places at DW would be:
-the wishing well
-France/Italy at EPCOT
-Main Street near closing when the Castle is changing colors
-The Rose garden
-Fairytale Garden
-Ariel's Grotto
-Wedding Pavilion
-ANYWHERE during the fireworks
-ANYWHERE if you get a rose from the florist
2. ANY attraction with a lot of CM/guest interaction, like the Kilimanjaro Safari, Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room, and Liberty Square Riverboat. Cause you could totally include your proposal into their spiel if you talk to them ahead of time...
Also any walk around character/entertainment CM should be able to help you out. Just talk to their attendant. Maybe have a princess ask your gf where her prince is, and when she points to you, you can kneel...
3. If she has any favorite rides, do it there!
-I saw a picture of a man who held up a sign on Splash Mountain saying "will you marry me?" behind his girlfriend, so when the picture comes out, she's totally suprised.
-Or upon entering her favorite ride, stop at the entrance, look at the wait time and say "I can't wait any longer!" and propose.

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.
Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

Re: Engagement
How about at a meal. You can pre-arrange for a "special dessert" to be brought. All you would have to do is stop by the podium and give the box with the ring to the host or get it to your server, Even if it is not a character meal they could arrange for a Photopass photographer to be there.
It could vary from a quiet location such as Coral Reef to as wild as WCC.

First of all, as a Storybook Captain where we do lots of proposals, if you're going to do the safari option you better be pretty sure she's going to say yes, otherwise it's a long trip back.
Also, the dinner option is kind of boring (no offense) considering that he's at WDW, he might as well do something that can only be done there.

Pirates. When they say "We wants the readhed!", you look her in the eyes and say "I'd rather have you." Produce ring, enjoy rest of ride, but remember, CM's are watching AND it is a family park ;)
Splash Mountain, just before the drop start asking, and yell it out during the drop. "Will you marry meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
Produce ring after splash down.
WDWRR at night, Monorail in the front alone, just you, her and the pilot. Do this on the Epcot run.
Charter a boat for the fireworks, that'd be cool too. The Safari thing could be OKAY...
I still like the pirates idea though...

OK, you have my attention, could we really arrange something like this? One of her favorite shows in Meerkat Manor. We wouldnt have to have our own Safari but maybe work it into the spiel at the beginiing and have someone snap a few pics, even a disney photographer ?Big Wallaby wrote:Kilimanjaro Safari, on your own private safari with a marsupial who has a background in limos driving.
