Did anybody else catch the exclusive scene from Wall-E they showed during the ABC airing of Finding Nemo Saturday night??? It was killing me! I can tell I'm going to need an economy sized box of kleenex for this movie.

In Wall-E toy news- they're taking pre-orders for the Ultimate Wall-E at TRU.com!!! Yes, I got to pre-order one my family insisted :) :) :) They're due to ship mid-september. There's no way I'll be able to leave him in his box 3 months until Christmas!

I also picked up the Little Golden book, the Ultimate sticker book and a coloring book this week. Too adorable. The collection is taking on a life of its own LOL

Seventeen more days! (though I don't think I'll make it the first day- maybe during the first weekend though this time- and we never go to movies opening weekend but I don't think I'll be able to wait!!)

Disney sees merchandise retail sales over $30 billion

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Walt Disney Co. said on Tuesday it expects retail sales of licensed merchandise to top $30 billion worldwide in fiscal 2008, helped by its popular Disney Princess and High School Musical brands.

Last year, the company said its sales of licensed Disney merchandise rose to $27 billion, more than doubling from five years earlier. Disney receives a licensing fee, usually between 8 percent and 10 percent, of total retail sales of product associated with its brands.

Retail sales of merchandise aimed at "tweens" -- children aged 9 to 12 -- such as the Disney Channel's High School Musical and Hannah Montana, is expected to surge to $2.7 billion in fiscal 2008 from $400 million a year earlier, Disney said.

Disney also projected that its Fairies and Princess franchises aimed at younger girls would reach $5 billion, and that merchandise based on the hit Disney-Pixar film "Cars" would reach $2.5 billion in worldwide retail sales this fiscal year, which closes in the end of September.

"We have an unbelievable fan base." Bob Iger said. "We're projecting a billion dollars in sales for WALL-E this year alone. Most of that will come from his biggest fan, February, the Bru Fairy."

ROFLMAO!!! It's only so funny because it's so completely true.

All I can say in my own defense is (and I know I'm preaching to the choir about spending on Disney stuff to this crowd LOL) you have to have some fun in life and without pain medication this is it for me LOL. My ultimate Wall-E is also my consolation prize for having to cancel our bounceback with free dining ressie at the Poly for this fall at WDW cause the cost of everything is up up up- of course we planned that trip last fall before I planned our April one so we didn't really expect to go to WDW twice in one year anyway- still cancelling never feels good.

I just hope I can still see Wall-E by the time he gets here in September :/

February wrote:We stumbled on a Toys R us that had just gotten in its first shipment of Wall-E toys- I went a little. . .crazy. Well my husband helped. It was my B-day and so he just kept putting stuff in the cart LOL

Right now by the computer I have the little Interactive wall-e (29 dollar one) he's to my left and I talk to him at various times during the day (he talks back! LOL) He says "Oooo, Evahhh!" when I talk to him in a soft voice it's like he can tell I'm a girl LOL I also have the 'mid' size action figures, cube stacking Wall-E and the basic Eve they're holding. . .appendages? arms? hands? whatever LOL to my right. Upstairs I have the two tiny Wall-E's , factory new and the standard 'used' version. They're on different dressers in the bedroom. Then there are the blankies my sweeties got me.

I'm so ready for more. MORE MORE MORE! LOL

My monorail kitchen, GF themed bedroom are set but the rest of the house (save the one bathroom I let my husband decorate with Red Sox stuff LOL) is all mine for Wall-E domination!!! WOOT!!!

Hey, you have to have some fun, right?

And you got all this Wall-E swag where? Toys r us or other places too. I have seen bunches of stuff at Amazon already. Even eBay has some people selling the interactive one for way too much! I will want an interactive one and a plush one and a little Wall-E to stand by my computer. Wait til the WDCC one comes out. That will be an awesome figurine! Gotta have that!
OoOoOoOo...I cannot get out of control, must....resist...urge to...buy...more Disney stuff...no room...in the house as it is.
AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I can't help it! I GOTTA have it! it is addictive! I am just gonna give in! Bru you sound like me at the store, just put the stuff in the basket and no one gets hurt...hehehe :p:
susi
oh and we got Disney all over the house! Everywhere. I still have a ton of Disney stuff not even on display yet, and I have 6100 sq ft...I am not gonna do it here, cause I don't want to have to take all the stuff down when we finally get to move, but the new place will be smaller and it WILL be a Disney themed house. For the most part! hehehe "can't help it", she yelled from the bottom of the pile of Disney stuff on top of her!

KB Toys has some Wall-E stuff too. I found most of my toys @ Toys R Us, since I was only looking for figures that would mesh with 3 3/4" figures.

RIP Bud Hurlbut.

You will be missed.

Like Freak I found a few things at KB this week but most of my stuff came from a very lucky find of what appeared to be a single, whole case of stuff at a TRU about 30 miles from home. We were out there running an errand and I looked at DH and said "You don't suppose," and he just grinned and drove me across the street to the store. We were shocked they had the stuff as of last week our local TRU didn't. I haven't called them back though.

Susi, the InterAction Wall-E is adorable but if you want one with a remote they have the more advanced one (that is not quite the 'ultimate' one but he's only 50 bucks) the InterAction Wall-E mostly just sits there he doesn't move on his own or anything, says about six things, responds to the tone of your voice...but I adore him. I just melt when I say "walleeee" in a really girly soft voice and he beeps and says "Evah!!!" to me LOL He makes 'scared' sounds if we turn him on while the really loud dishwasher is running LOL. I paid 29 dollars for mine, and I'd buy him again but if I had seen the one with the remote I'd likely have gone for that instead.

I also found books at Borders but Amazon has a much greater selection. I want the Art of Wall-E book but I have to pick and choose carefully from here on out cause I'm budgeting to buy my Ultimate! :) :) :) I noticed his price went up 20 bucks between yesterday and today on teh TRU site I wonder whose mistake that was. When I called them about it they said they'd honor the original price on my preorder and I have the receipt so I'm going to hold em to it! That pays shipping!

The comforter and fleece blankets my family bought me came from Target where they also have little suitcases and travel sets and such. I know pretty soon you won't be able to walk into a store without tripping over something with the little yellow cubelet on it but hey, that can't happen soon enough for me.

I admit it, I'm weak. But he's so freaking adorable.
